Exiled Wagner chief 'could attack Kyiv from Belarus' warns British general

Despite the radically destabilising impact of the Wagner Group's attempted coup yesterday, it may not spell victory for Ukraine in their ongoing conflict against Russia, after a top British military chief warned that hardened mercenaries may now attack Kyiv from Belarus.

Former chief of the UK General Staff Lord Dannatt warned that if Prigozhin has taken his forces with him to Belarus, Kyiv may be in grave peril.

“If he has gone to Belarus and has kept an effective fighting force around him, he then presents a threat again to the Ukrainian flank closest to Kyiv which is where all this began on February 24 last year.

“They (Ukraine) need to watch that flank very carefully and make sure they have got some manoeuvre units such that they could repel a renewed attack from the direction of Belarus.”

Yeah, this is my guess. They put 25000 Wagner in south Belarus, wait until the south and east fronts thin out the military and then get them into kiev somehow. Ukrainians are just stretched too thin and too willing to surrender.

I saw a tweet yesterday that claimed that western forces had convinced Prigozhin that Putin was going to arrest him. And that they also told Prigozhin that those western forces would protect him if he could overthrow Putin. In other words the entire insurrection was instigated by western forces.

After reading this then I believe that tweet may not be fiction. This is the power of color revolution, and in America we have allowed color revolution to destroy us. It is the source of the progressive movement that has turned us upside down.

Maybe the Ukraine could hire the Wagner Group away from Russia.

I don’t know if this coup was a head fake or staged event, it does seem strange someone could call for armed rebellion, roll armor into city then threaten the capital and in less than 24 hours, agree to be exiled in Belarus and not charged with any crimes seems incredible to me.

Something doesn’t seem to add up, I have no idea what it is, it will certainly be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.

Is this true? Just yesterday, I read that the Wagner Coup had basically won the war for Ukraine. How can the experts and the intelligence agencies be wrong pretty much all the time? Even the law of averages say they would get some things right.

Lukashenko was reluctant to invade Ukraine. He lacked popular support.

Lukashenko out.

Prigoshin in.

The coup provides Prigoshin’s forces a separation from Moscow to minimize Belorussian resistance to their presence and of an invasion from their territory.

Prigoshin will also be less reluctant to launching a nuclear strike on Ukraine.

The Belorussians will figure this out if they haven’t already.

Given how many opponents Putin has taken out over the last few years, it seems impossible to me that Putin would allow someone to declare an armed revolt, roll armor into a Russian City and then just let him walk away as if nothing happened.

At this point, anything is possible, it just seems highly unlikely.

The Wagner Group sounds like a family of mutual funds.

Sounds lime a Russian family spat. Maybe Prigozhin felt disrespected or Putin was a little behind on the payroll. Who knows? They kissed and made up so likely that’s the end of it.

Most Wagner mercs are Russian that were getting their paychecks from Putin to fight Ukraine. I read Putin is now reassigning them to the regular Russian army. Prigozhin does not have the money to raise an army. So, unless Zelensky or the CIA funds him to stage another coup attempt, he is out in the cold no matter how much the British M16 flaps its gums about Prigozhin still having fangs.

Anything can, and will, happen. I think this might be a way to open a second front on Ukraine. Much will happen in the next two months.

Britain has a general? Has an army? < sarc > From another vantage point, the downsized and downsizing British bulldog has fallen over and can't get up.

See the incredibly shrinking British military in a simple chart:
