the Trump campaign needs to be aware of an emerging thread of data that suggests that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis may do better in the general election.
New survey results from Public Opinion Strategies build on previous results and are starting to frame a coherent story about how the general election might look with different Republican candidates.
The new survey results indicate that Mr. DeSantis would do better than Mr. Trump in the general election in specific battleground states. For example, in Georgia, Mr. DeSantis leads President Biden by 3 percentage points in a general election matchup.
In the same matchup, Mr. Trump loses Georgia to Mr. Biden by 3 points.
In Pennsylvania, Mr. DeSantis runs 2 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 4 points behind Mr. Biden.
Back in April, Mr. Trump trailed Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by the same 4 percentage points. Mr. DeSantis led Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by 3 points.
In Arizona, the current spread between the candidates appears greater. Mr. DeSantis runs 6 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 3 points behind the president. That is also a greater margin than was evident in polling done in April.
Those results indicated that Mr. DeSantis would defeat Mr. Biden nationally by 3 percentage points while Mr. Trump would lose nationally by 3 percentage points — the same margin by which he lost in 2020.

Yes we are. I wouldn’t vote for DeSantis if my life depended on it. He has already shown us who he is. Not much different than Biden.
My family and I are chomping at the bit to vote for Ron DeSantis for president.
We were diehard Trump supporters until he started lurching to the left and attacking DeSantis with outrageous lies and smears.
We have a proven conservative in DeSantis and a proven RINO in Trump.
I see Trump as a paradigm shift. Reagan was also. They don’t come along all that often.
I don’t see Ron in that light. I’m saying this not for the power of the name as
far as negativity goes, but I no longer see Ron as a break out guy. I see him
more as I would a Bush or a Ford.
What we need is three to five break out type terms to get this nation back
on track.
In fact, we either destroy the Left or humanity will be.
I for Trump in ‘24 and DeSantis in ‘28. Better still would be a Trump/DeSantis ticket.
And that’s the $64,000 question how can DeSantis be OK in 28 if he’s not OK now.
Deadenders like you don’t represent most of MAGA, maga MUST survive Trump.
Just because Lincoln won doesn't mean that Seward might not have also won if he'd been the nominee.
Two wins plus a U.S. Senator from Georgia, Gov. Brian Kemp. That’s three wins instead of three losses.
That’s not the point.
The point is, is Ron the type of break out person we truly need?
Put him in in 2028.
Does he tread water or do we proceed to turn back the clock
and demolish the uniparty?
To be honest, I’d prefer to be wrong. I’m not convinced at all
that I am.
There is no case for the Globalist / NeoCon DeSantis over MAGA Trump.
Don’t matter who the Pubbie is....the Dims know
how to cheat and they know...nothing is going to stop them.
So, you will never vote for DeSantis, so I guess you’ll vote for Biden or his successor. Maybe you’ll go over to DU and join them?
6 months ago I would have agreed that Desantis was the front runner for 28…
Now, not so much.
He’s going to learn the lessons that Cruz and Rubio did in 16… the damage he’s doing to his brand is very likely ensured he will never be the Republican nominee for President.
In spite of your labels I don’t hate Desantis, I just don’t project things onto him that are not there. His foolish decisions this cycle have made him a non starter going forward.
We’ll see who’s right
Ron has had a Conservative legislature down there.
Compare Trump having to go against both parties, the media, the FBI, the
Justice Department, and the FISA Court of all things.
He did this and still managed to get a lot of stuff done.
I was a pretty strong backer of Ron for a while there.
There is no case. It’s RINO vs outsider.
As, I said there is NO ONE else in the Party, who has fought the left sucsessfully who could keep the Movement going.

It’s NOT a bad thing to have 2 MAGA Canidates,
....
Two MAGA candidates running at the same time, one officially announcing after the Durham report, in govt speak, confirmed that your nation’s Swamp has had Trump , MAGA candidate number one, as public enemy number one, since he announced in 2015?
That’s poor timing by one of those alleged MAGA candidates..
Pence had bad timing, too.
Who is more competent to run the Ballot Harvesting Operations. Sadly, that is what the left has turned are Elections into.
