the Trump campaign needs to be aware of an emerging thread of data that suggests that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis may do better in the general election.
New survey results from Public Opinion Strategies build on previous results and are starting to frame a coherent story about how the general election might look with different Republican candidates.
The new survey results indicate that Mr. DeSantis would do better than Mr. Trump in the general election in specific battleground states. For example, in Georgia, Mr. DeSantis leads President Biden by 3 percentage points in a general election matchup.
In the same matchup, Mr. Trump loses Georgia to Mr. Biden by 3 points.
In Pennsylvania, Mr. DeSantis runs 2 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 4 points behind Mr. Biden.
Back in April, Mr. Trump trailed Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by the same 4 percentage points. Mr. DeSantis led Mr. Biden in Pennsylvania by 3 points.
In Arizona, the current spread between the candidates appears greater. Mr. DeSantis runs 6 points better than Mr. Biden while Mr. Trump runs 3 points behind the president. That is also a greater margin than was evident in polling done in April.
Those results indicated that Mr. DeSantis would defeat Mr. Biden nationally by 3 percentage points while Mr. Trump would lose nationally by 3 percentage points — the same margin by which he lost in 2020.

“We were diehard Trump supporters until he started lurching to the left...”
Lurching to the left? Hmmm. What’s this lurch to the left you speak of?
It doesn’t, but the Democrats are always accusing the Republicans of racism. So which party has the “diverse” field again?
In 2028, I will support the person President Trump supports for President. And that person — for sure — won’t be De Snake Hiss.
Ok, deadender.
So, you would support a rhino neo- con like Tim Scott over DrSantis? Insane.
What if he picks Nicky Haely?
Trump needs to guarantee that he would NOT pick Scott or Haley, or anyone like that.
Also, can you still vote In Japan? Just wondering.
Trump wad attacking DrSantis from the left, but he seems to have stopped that npw.
Agree to disagree, though you seem more genuine than most DeSantians. I believe his corporatist Fox News/ Daily Wire/ TPUSA culture war is fake and a distraction from the dire realities of the day. President Trump is far from perfect, and his post Presidency spergeout (understandable but hardly heroic) has been less than productive- OTOH he faces the greatest peril of any political figure in this country since the founding, and largely on nonsensical basis. Any politician who stands against him, particularly in as conniving and deceitful a manner as Team DeSantis and their establishment masters, is the enemy.
Marxism HERE is the greatest threat.
XiSantis is Swamp.
Ukraine War, Hedge fund donors, “free trade”.
Bush 3.0
Wait, a minute, can you can you even vote in the Election?
Globohomo is global.
“Free trade”, hedge fund economics, open borders, neocon wars are killing every country in the West.
And every leader in the West except Trump is part of it.
Ron is not de Saint we are looking for.
Since the founding of Public Opinion Strategies in 1991, the firm has conducted 11 million interviews, completed over 25,000 projects, and currently represents five governors, nine Senators, and over 40 Members of Congress. Since 2004, along with its Democratic partner, the firm conducts The NBC News Poll and, since 2007, the CNBC All-America Economic Survey. The firm now has 12 partners, is the largest political and public affairs survey research firm, and among the 50 largest research firms in the country. …Trump’s own?
LOL. I don’t agree with you so I am misinformed...
Sorry. My impressions are very different than yours and just as valid. I find his associations repellant and his actions choreographed to impress rather than genuine. It’s about ambition not desire to serve IMO.
Don't forget that all of Trump's bad endorsements and hirings are the fault of other people, not Trump.
Trump not prosecuting Hillary or draining the swamp is not Trump's fault.
Trump accomplishing nothing permanent legislatively is not Trump's fault (even though he claims he is a master negotiator)
Trump supports an assault weapons ban.
Trump supports a nationwide abortion protection.
Trump supports the LGBTQ+
Trump has been the head of the GOP since 2016. It is HIS party. The leadership is Trump's picks like Speaker McCarthy and GOP Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel.
