Today Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made an announcement that has not yet been carried in Western media but which is of the most grave nature.
According to the latest intelligence reports, Russia believes that the Ukrainian armed forces now intend to cover their failed counter-offensive in the Donbas by using US-supplied Himars multiple launch artillery and UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles, possibly in the longer range domestic version, to attack the Crimea.
If this happens, says Shoigu, Russia will consider both the United States and Britain to have fully entered the war as co-belligerents. And Russia will immediately respond to any such attack on its territory by destroying “the decision making centers” of the Kiev regime. This is a fairly transparent threat to “neutralize” their government apparatus and personnel, logically including President Zelensky.
The statement by Shoigu leaves little doubt that we are entering the final phase of the Ukraine war as a war limited to the geography of Ukraine, and are possibly heading into a wider war with unforeseeable consequences both for Europeans and (finally) for Americans.
The ball is in the court of Washington and London.

LOL, giving Ukraine $46.6 billion in weapons, and forcing the #2 military in the world into a stalemate for 16 months in Ukraine is a "poor result"? Really?
Nice lie. The US and other nations have given over $70 billion in military aid to Ukraine.
I agree with you. Even if “major” hostilities between Russia & Ukraine ended tomorrow, there will most likely be annoying backwoods guerilla ops between small bands of operatives/soldiers for many years, in effect returning to the status quo ante. As I understand it, that was the provocation for the Feb 24th onset. “As I understand it” is a very loose indication of anything approaching reality, any time I investigate a news report from the region I get the feeling that there’s not a single word of reliable reporting available on the entire exercise other than “what these two guys with a javelin blew up this Russ tank”. There’s no reliable strategic propaganda-free reporting on any of this, as far as I’m concerned.
But I tend to think along the lines you laid out. As horrible and crappy as wars are, there are certain regions of the world where these decades, even centuries-old grudges cannot help but play out once unleashed and there’s no such thing as exhaustion as long as there is no industrial production that might supply a decent wage and a few rich bastards who’ll fly in and hand out truckloads of cheap AK-47s.
US gave $46.6 billion in weapons to Ukraine.
So $70 billion in weapons resulting in the 16 month destruction of the russian army in Ukraine is a "poor result"? Really?
Graham just told Ukraine (via dog whistle) if they blow up a reactor that spreads some radiation, NATO will go to war with Russia.
This is a hair away from all out WWIII.
Never said he took his gloves off. He is incrementally handing the SMO to the military, which is obvious since the non stop 24/7 missile attacks on Ukie targets, infrastructure, GRU headquarters, ammo dumps, etc.
Please don’t misquote me, but do note I have long stated this:
Ukraine 1991-2023 RIP.
The downhill slide since the Artymovsk defeat, recent offensive disaster, the 9th mobilization of Ukie soldiers ( 18-60) two days ago, the heavy losses of his third army western trained group, the Ukies inability to reach Vlad’s first line of defense,….points to the beginning of the end.
So, I repeat:
Ukraine 1991-2023…..so, so obvious….I fully expect the final tide to turn in July/ August….TURN….even if the collective West does something stupid like climbing the escalation ladder.
It started in 850AD people just completely ignore the fact that the Slavs and the Russ have been at each other’s throat on and off and even coming to each other’s aid periodically since the Middle Ages. Hitler was simply poking at the hornet nest.
Cooler heads might prevail but it won’t be us, we’re stuck on stupid and there has been a rhumba line of dumbasses leading us to the trash heap of history for at least 100 years.
attack on its territory by destroying “the decision making centers” of the Kiev regime”

Much more to that statement. Vlad means what he says. As this is a politically driven war, “ Decision Making Centers “ scream of Ukie government institutions, which he has not yet targeted in Kiev. Vlad can take out any target from the Donbass to Lvov……I suspect our corrupted little comedian will be making many more begging trips abroad……on the road again……
Yep. History is not followed by many here on FR. This back and forth bickering in that region has gone on for many hundreds of years. In the last century Russian leaders have given or taken territories in the borderlands (Ukraine) depending on their origins supporting Kiev or Moscow. USA should not go there.
Good thing we have such an alert intelligent man at the helm leading us:
Sarcasm but not a joke, at least not a laughing matter:

the world would be a safer place if Z-ski was not in power
If Russia wants to attack NATO then what are they waiting for? Or is their civil war keeping them busy?
WW III starts this weekend.
——-
No, it starts with a stupid move by the collective West, F-16’s used to bomb the Russian Federation, Ukies blowing the reactor, ATACOM’s used on Russian soil, false flag attack triggering NATO Article five, etc….
The grown up in this conflict has stated over and over WHEN he will deploy nukes….don’t buy into the fear peddling.
Hard to believe the CIA isn’t behind this.
——
Russian social media might have it spot on- the Uber rich Russian oligarchs losing their wealth, much evidence showing deals being made with the CIA promising oligarchs money unfreezing in exchange for betrayal? Time will tell.
At this time, the most plausible.
—> Sociopaths only care about themselves. People with these tendencies rise to power in totalitarian countries.
Perfect description of the WEF, deep state, Soros, etc.
I’m old enough to remember when the USA acted for freedom and democracy and human rights.
Today we lead the world in promoting gay crap, interfering in nations that we want changed (ukraine revolution, most recently subverting the Brazil election). And pushing for WWIII.
I’d prefer we get back to our constitution and moral position.
Nobody wanted it, nobody thought it would happen. But it did.
Crimea is part of Ukraine.
———
Times change. It has been historically Russia, home of their naval fleet since 1770’s ( why the West wants it) and created by Katherine the Great, whom also built Odessa. Under Ukie governance only since 1991 to when Obama handed it over to Ivan….file your complaints and objections with Obama.

You left out the full total aid package.
Russia has fully established itself anyway. Total waste there and total theft from our own country - and without a single vote.
pretending?
Bump!

Exactly, like us in the US- are we better off than two years ago with senile Joe in charge? NO…. The poor Ukie population asks the same…in two years of Zelensky’s “ leadership “, they have been clearly decimated, depopulated, deenergized, deindustrialized,….troubling is Zelensky just passed a law that ALL elections will be postponed until after he war is over….Seig Heil Z, so Nazi like.
