Today Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu made an announcement that has not yet been carried in Western media but which is of the most grave nature.
According to the latest intelligence reports, Russia believes that the Ukrainian armed forces now intend to cover their failed counter-offensive in the Donbas by using US-supplied Himars multiple launch artillery and UK-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles, possibly in the longer range domestic version, to attack the Crimea.
If this happens, says Shoigu, Russia will consider both the United States and Britain to have fully entered the war as co-belligerents. And Russia will immediately respond to any such attack on its territory by destroying “the decision making centers” of the Kiev regime. This is a fairly transparent threat to “neutralize” their government apparatus and personnel, logically including President Zelensky.
The statement by Shoigu leaves little doubt that we are entering the final phase of the Ukraine war as a war limited to the geography of Ukraine, and are possibly heading into a wider war with unforeseeable consequences both for Europeans and (finally) for Americans.
The ball is in the court of Washington and London.

Not quite.
Maybe it’s just the start of a Russian civil war.
Would the West chance a larger nuclear war with Russia over the Ukraine?
I vote no, but our elite idiots who helped create this mess in the first place don’t really care what you and I think.
There is no “retirement” plan for Putin or his generals. You either maintain power or you are dead and penniless because your very existence is a threat to the new guy(s) AND your wealth is an easy populist target that wins support from the peasantry.
They WILL use nuclear weapons if it means they survive. I don’t know how/why more people can’t see this. I can’t understand this oft-repeated scenario where “Putin is not that crazy” so he will somehow just peacefully step down and give a farewell address and shuffle off with his hundreds of billions in wealth?
I said it from Day 1 - I cannot see a scenario where Putin survives defeat in the Ukraine. The same is true for his inner circle of oligarchs AND his military leadership. He might survive the Wagner uprising, but the Chef is not an idiot and he knows better than all of us how soft the underbelly is in Moscow. He has bet his life on this too.
At least we will finally get to stop pretending this is a Ukraine/Russia war.
Black knight victorious ove King Arthur.
How many United States' taxpayer dollars/personnel/materiel has the US funneled to Ukraine to fight "their" war?
I forget.
Remind me.
On note about Reagan’s approach to nuclear war with Russia: He understood what you understand. He made it personal Moscow was targeted by literally hundreds of nuclear weapons. Reagan made it plain to Soviet leadership, that come what may, neither they personally, nor their family members, would survive a nuclear war. He need someone to make that point to Putin. Most people know, and feel, that the world is bigger than them, they care if their country and family survive. Sociopaths only care about themselves. People with these tendencies rise to power in totalitarian countries.
” he is not beyond using tactical nukes in Kiev if Ukraine threatens Russian territory”
Agreed
He’ll Nuke Uke before letting it go full NATO-
Since the Swedish Vikings first started building settlements along all the major rivers in what is now Ukraine, ownership of the Rus has been fought over ever since...
It reminds me of an old fashioned NYC boxing ring gym, everybody eventually gets in there and starts swinging...
Ukraine will be fought over in perpetuity, since it has an incredible assortment of natural resources, including the biggest food basket on the continent...
IAC, IMHO, lets keep our Nation’s nose completely out of anything that happens there... Neither side is worth the blood of a single American...
😂😂😂
I hope not...

Regardless, they are a minor military without combined arms. When the U.S. attacked a decidedly superior (compared to Ukraine’s) Iraqi army, they cut through them like a hot knife through butter. We got bogged down in nation building in Iraq, not the war. Same with Afghanistan. The Russo-Ukrainian war should have been like Desert Storm, with Russian armor rolling into Kiev within a week, two at the most. Instead it looked like the Russo-Finnish war. An utter debacle.
Hard to believe the CIA isn’t behind this. Time to start hoping Vlad’s a take the money and run sort of guy…
Are the walls closing in also?
Oh, other war
Double the amount Russia spends on its entire defense budget.
Given the poor results from the Ukrainian use of our weapons, I would say we are not getting our money's worth and probably would have a hard time fighting the Russians or anyone.
But, but, but...I thought that Vlad took the gloves off last winter? That’s what you said back then...
I will rephrase the question to give you another opportunity to lie.
How long would the war have lasted were it not really a proxy war with FJB/Soros funding/hiding behind Ukraine and declaring they would fight Russia to the last Ukrainian life?
I apologize. I misinterpreted your response. I am accustomed to being attacked, and assume all responses are attacks. I apologize again.
“And Russia will immediately respond to any such attack on its territory by destroying “the decision making centers” of the Kiev regime”
And that is where the British and US spooks, com and surveillance contractors, and soldiers do their targeting work. There is more to this threat that taking out a Uke command post. It’s a warning to the mostly Brits that work there.
