UFC President Dana White said Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are "absolutely deadly serious" about fighting each other in a UFC octagon after speaking with both men for about "an hour and a half" on the subject.
In an interview with TMZ, the UFC boss said he was talking and texting with the tech moguls all night after the two made an online agreement about fighting each other in a cage match.
It started when Musk posted, "I'm up for a cage match if he is lol," on Twitter, in response to a comment warning Musk about Zuckerberg's jiu-jitsu experience. Zuckerberg shared a screenshot of Musk's tweet on an Instagram story and included the message, "Send Me Location," followed by Musk saying "Vegas Octagon" on Twitter.
White told TMZ's Harvey Levin that "both guys are absolutely dead serious about this." White added that the event would be the most-watched fight ever.
"The biggest fight of all time was Floyd and Conor, I just think it triples that — it triples what that did, there's no limit on what that thing can make," the mixed martial arts pioneer said.
Most UFC pay-per-view events cost the viewer $80 each, but White said the cost for such a mega-fight would be $100, which would gross hundreds of millions of dollars for charity.
Musk reportedly told White that he has martial arts experience and that he was involved in "plenty of fights growing up in South Africa." The Twitter owner is on record telling comedian Joe Rogan in 2020 that he has experience in taekwondo, karate, and judo.
As well, he mentioned to an excited Rogan that he dabbled in jiu-jitsu in California.
By most accounts, Zuckerberg holds the athletic edge as an avid runner and jiu-jitsu champion. The Meta chief won a gold medal in the Nogi Master 1 White Belt Featherweight Division and silver in the Gi Master 2 White Belt Featherweight Division in Silicon Valley in May 2023.
Zuckerbeg also professed his love for martial arts to guru Rogan, explaining that his obsession for jiu-jitsu developed within the first five minutes of his training.
Physically, Musk may have a size advantage at 6'1 compared to Zuckerberg, who is reportedly 5'7. However, the American Zuckerberg is still a year under 40, while Musk is already 51.
Musk in two.
It will never happen. Its ridiculous American-style spectacle.
both of these guys have $$ Billions in shareholder value riding on their backs. I imagine their lawyers and major shareholders haven’t given their input yet.
As pleasant as it is to imagine, what would happen to META shares if Zuckerfrck got popped hard in the head, causing a brain hemorrhage which put him in a coma?
Elon, bring a rat trap to catch the little rodent.
LOL saw a comparison on their height, weight, etc. Last think listed wad IQ Musk got him beat by 4 points at 155.
Will Zuck bring his booster seat?
My money is on Musk.
Musk looks like a bleeder
Why?
Musk 6’ 1 1/2” 190 pounds... Zuck 5’ 7” 154 pounds. Zuck is pretty quick but I doubt he can “Ground and Pound” Musk in 2!
Well, as ridiculous as this is I would love to see Zuckerberg get his block knocked off.
Musk is pretty pudgy and will need lots of training if he expects to win.
Actually it is possible that something like this could be a rather fun charity event. Sell tickets, all proceeds go to the charity of the winner’s choice and the loser donates $1,000,000 to feed the starving or something.
BTW, my money is on Musk
I recommend chainsaws in a phone booth.
Andrew Tate has offered to train Elon, and guarantees he won’t lose.
I think Rogan should do it....but Musk wants him to referee.
Hope Elon goes ‘Walrus’ on Zuck.
Exactly right. If it were to happen, it would be completely staged by the lawyers for charity (perhaps).
Zuckerberg has been training.
Pretty sure Elon hasn’t.
Elon might not want to push ahead on this.
Musk has dropped a lot of weight last I heard. Used Wegovy or like Ozempic.
