PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Multnomah County is blaming some of the largest oil companies in the world for the 2021 heat dome that killed dozens of people. On Thursday, it filed a lawsuit against the companies, saying it plans to hold them accountable for the damages.
The lawsuit names Exxon Mobil, Shell, Chevron, BP, ConocoPhillips, Motiva, Occidental Petroleum, Anadarko Petroleum, Space Age Fuel, Valero Energy, Total Specialties USA, Marathon Petroleum, Peabody Energy, Koch Industries, American Petroleum Institute, Western States Petroleum Association, and McKinsey & Company.

Dismiss with prejudice, assign the NGO sponsoring this lawsuit with $100 million in damages to the defendants, and file a complaint with the state bar about the lawyers that brought it.

Portland is ruled, governed, controlled between THREE counties if you did not know.
Multnomah is the eastern section of Portland, including most of the city from the Willamette River out towards Troutdale and down towards Gresham (Grease-ham), and the car dealer that begat “The Trunk Monkey” adverisements.

These suits are basically attention getting fundraisers. They have been systematically thrown out of courts all over the country.
They generally have been called “blocking highs” meaning slow moving or stationary body of high atmospheric pressure. They tend to be calm, hot and sunny. “Heat dome” is one of those histrionic terms the weather people have adopted to make their forecasts more exciting and ominous sounding. Like “bomb cyclone” or “global heating”(it isn’t just “warming” any more!).
