Will Hurd, a moderate Texas Republican and Trump critic, announces run for president (Will McRomBush)

Former U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, R-Helotes, announced Thursday he is running for president, becoming the first Texan with experience in elective office to enter the Republican primary.

Hurd, who represented Texas in Congress from 2015-21, begins his campaign as a major underdog. He is an unabashed moderate and a Donald Trump critic in a party where many remain loyal to the former president and frontrunner for the 2024 Republican nomination.

Hurd revealed his decision in a Thursday morning interview on CBS and followed it up online with an announcement video that began with Hurd listing illegal immigration, inflation and other problems before addressing the current and former presidents.

“President [Joe] Biden can’t solve these problems — or won’t,” Hurd said. “And if we nominate a lawless, selfish, failed politician like Donald Trump — who lost the House, the Senate and the White House — we all know Joe Biden will win again.”

Will McRomBush joins Nikki McRomBush, Asa McRomBush, Tim McRomBush and Chris McRomBush.

Ron DeSantis isn't a McRomBush but he's sure surrounded himself with them, and is apparently listening to them.

Whatever. He’s playing in a crowded field if he’s trying to be the anti-Trump or Trump-bashing candidate.

Yes, sorry. Forgot about Mike McRomBush. But there’s a reason for that. He slipped my mind because he’s very forgettable.

Unlike Trump, Hurd is the one that is going to fail.

That's it! If he's running for President then so am I. I have no political ambitions, ideas, training, wealth, intelligence, experience, abilities, talents, name recognition, plans, platforms, solutions to offer, promises to make, actions to take. Plenty of skeletons, vices, faults, foibles, and distractions, and I don't even care enough about winning to tell any lies about any of it.

Vote Sirius Lee 2024! At least before you consider this clown.

a major underdog

Ya’ think.

If I put a number on it would be more than ten to one.

That’s in digits not numbers.

I would like to get a copy of his donor list if ‘ol Will has one.

Could be Ron’s donors.

As a conspiracy theorist, I suspect the Uniparty is trying to fill the debate stage up with zombie candidates so Ron will have less chance of putting his foot in his mouth.

Although his foot seems to have been stuck in his mouth for most of his “declared” candidacy.

Porky Pig could be press secretary and run circles around
this ostrich feather we have now.

Whose next? Termites?

Hurd was the Congress Critter for TX-23, the largest CG in Texas. While Hurd looks a bit hispanic he realized that he was probably going to lose to a D so he bailed out and went back to working for the FedGov. He was ex-CIA or ex-FBI before running for Congress. Most of his problems were that his voting was not nearly conservative enough for his district. While TX-23 is largely hispanic they are are also largely conservative. Outside of the San Antonio metro area TX-23 is ranches and farms worked by people who don’t care for ‘wokeism’, kwheers, CRT, DIE, etc.

Current rep Gonzales is a bit more conservative but not much.
