A building in central Paris housing an arts and design school, catering mainly to international students, was partially destroyed in a violent blast on Wednesday afternoon.
French Interior MInister Gérard Darmanin told a press conference just before 10 pm local time (1pm PT) that 37 people had been injured, four of them seriously.
At least two people were reported to be missing and Darmanin said rescue services were continuing to search the site.
“It is possible that we will find bodies or people who are still alive tonight,” he said.
Earlier, Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez told a press briefing that the blast took place in a building at 277 Rue Saint-Jacques in the fifth arrondissement at 4.55 pm local time (7.55 am PT).
The address is home to the Paris American Academy.

walked near there getting to the place i stayed for two weeks in 1991. Rue de Poissy. I know but that was the place. and down the street was the “Arab world” institute. part of the Sorbonne.

no, it was either destroyed or partially damaged...something cannot be “partially” destroyed...

Destroyed physically or morally.
Spoiled or ruined or demolished.

I was thinking a gas explosion. Didn’t know if they used that in France. That will do it.
