This idiot repeats this same bee-ess and pretends it something he just thought of and everyone is supposed to laugh.

Now, he actually taught the 2nd Amendment!

President Biden took another swipe at Second Amendment supporters Tuesday evening, reminding them that they would "need an F-16" to challenge the U.S. government.

The only reason US civilians would ever need an F-16 to challenge the US government is if the US government planned to unleash the US military against US civilians. Good luck getting US soldiers to take up arms against the civilians of the US.

You dont need to take on the government, just the politicians.

Everyone seems to get lured right straight into the contentious aspect of this whole premise and thus focus on the debate between if, what, and how a conflict between citizens and government would take.

I would like to back on out and focus on the context of the statement in general;

Why is the POTUS even framing the second amendment in terms of winning a conflict with it’s own citizens at all?

Isn’t he inherently telegraphic his problem with the second amendment? That citizens may be able to defend themselves against government?

It’s rather chilling

Didn’t this whole “gun control” thing start by saying we
couldn’t have sawed off shot guns .... because
they were NOT weapons of war ...

or am I confused again....?

What we don’t need is DC anymore. It has proven itself, as the anti-federalists knew, to have become a tyrannical government.

The fact of the matter is we’re truly under Continuity of Government operations.

Nothing is what it seems.

"I taught it for four years, six years in law school. And guess what? It doesn’t say that you can own any weapon you want. It says there are certain weapons that you just can’t own. Even during when it was passed, you couldn’t own a cannon. You can’t own a machine gun."

Assuming that's true, those students need to demand their tuition refunded.

Biden: I taught it for six years in law school when Declaration signer George Read of Delaware came though my class as a student after he'd finish video taping FDR's fireside chats updating the country on McArthur crossing the Rubicon at Valley Forge. I remember it plain as day. Beau never made it out of Gettysburg.

I suppose taking up a collection here on FreeRepublic for an F-16 is out of the question?

Let's think through the implications of this idiots' argument.

The people do not have sufficient weaponry to take on the US military. (I don't believe this and I also don't buy the underlying assumption that the military would be united in a civil war type scenario). So...the people should give up the weapons they do have and their role in safeguarding their own liberties as envisioned by the Founding Fathers?

No. Its the exact opposite.

If the weapons currently in private hands are not sufficient to safeguard the people's liberty, then they need MORE and DEADLIER weapons. I note that:

RPGs

Fully automatic weapons

Hand Grenades

Land mines

armed drones

small mortars like the 81mm mortar

Are all well within the budget of most citizens.

So Joe. Which of these weapons do you think we need to legalize and get into private hands in large numbers? I'm all ears.

I remember watching them go after the Boston Bombers...an army by any other name...something the Constitution says should never happen.

Then there was the little Cuban Boy...no one can forget that picture.

The Taliban doesn’t have F-16s. What they had was patience and determination.

Ahh, but you CAN own an F-16 and a cannon. You just have to have the money.

The same government that was terrified when the government was almost overthrown on Jan 6, by unarmed people merely walking into a building through doors being held open for them by Capitol Police?

Asking for a FRiend...
