That is a nasty nasty parasite- people in Hawaii are gettign it too- not from the giant snails- but from other snails-

I imagine that all of the other snails in Florida are vectors, as well. If you don’t make a habit of eating them, cooked or raw, you’re probably OK. I think the potential for ag destruction is the big deal with these.
