With only hours of oxygen left in the submersible that was touring the Titanic, it has gone missing over the wreckage. By 12 pm on Thursday, the oxygen will be depleted. The sub, carrying five people, has been missing since Sunday when it lost all contact while exploring the wreckage of the famous ship 13,000 ft under the sea. GB News said the US is holding up a possible rescue. Rescuers say it’s not a rational decision.
Even if it is located, it would not be easy to rescue those on board, given the depths. It’s down about two miles. It is so deep even the U.S. Coastguard does not have the capabilities to reach it.
We don’t know if they are even alive.
British billionaire Hamish Harding, 58, is among those missing as rescue crews search the Atlantic Ocean.
Harding, who runs an aviation company, was on the 21ft vessel when it set off on Sunday.
The father-of-two, who lives in the UAE, said he was “proud” to be joining OceanGate as a “mission specialist,” adding that the group included “a couple of legendary explorers.”
French diving expert Paul-Henry Nargeolet and submarine boss Stockton Rush are likely on the missing submarine.
A British rescue mission to locate it has been “blocked by US officials.” Yet, there are only hours left to locate and save them. The five passengers onboard are running out of oxygen.
A remotely operated vehicle capable of pulling the vessel has been waiting to leave an airport in the Channel Islands since 7 pm on Monday, says GB News. The vessel takes tourists to the Titanic shipwreck out of the Atlantic Ocean.
NOT RATIONAL
According to the Telegraph, the team from deepwater specialists Magellan Limited has not received approval for take-off.
He added Magellan’s remotely operated vehicle was unique in that it was likely the only asset available to have a winch capable of dragging submersibles from the depths of the ocean, while it can also detect signals and send them above the surface.
Mr Hunchak said the desperate situation was “painful” to him as he described Paul-Henry Nargeolet, a Frenchman reported to be among those on the submersible, as a “personal mentor”.
He told the Telegraph: “We have British, French and US citizens on board and every minute here counts. This is not a rational decision, this is the only asset we have with a winch, and the guys are experts in this area.
“Why not run both vessels? The more help we can get, the better, and denying us means you are giving up on every option you have to save lives.”
“These are irreplaceable human beings.”
There are a lot of not rational decisions being made by US officials in this administration.
I think the US Navy already knows the sub was crushed, but can’t say it publicly.
We have listening devices all over the sea floor.............
Because they know..............
For pete’s sake, not everything in the world is about the “deep state”. Sometimes people just don’t want to be the one who has to go out in front of a microphone and take people’s hope that their loved ones are alive away from them. It doesn’t take a conspiracy theory to explain something like that.
The USN heard the implosion, can’t reveal it, so why would they authorize an operation for a ‘rescue’?
The denial is the tell.
There cannot be approval for takeoff until the sub is located. As far as I know, it has not been located.
Looks like the blaming and finger pointing for this tragedy is about to begin, with the US being the undeserved scapegoat.
The CEO was on the vessel....................
Even then . . it’s an American attitude . . . “I THINK I can, I THINK I can, I THINK I can . . .
LOL, I know some Chinese Grad Student already stole the technology years ago. Worst part we the taxpayers most likely paid for that SPY to go to our schools for free.
Exactly.
That’s how they determined what happened to the USS Scorpion in 1968.
They ‘heard’ the implosion on their listening devices..................
Democrats are evil scum.
But saying that a rescue of a mini-sub in an unknown location 12,500 feet below the surface in the next couple of days is even possible is not really very rational. And as others have pointed out, had there been an implosion, sensors we have scattered about the ocean floor to detect really quiet submarine movements have likely picked up the sound.
I can see why we wouldn’t want to publicize the sensors’ capabilities by announcing that we know what happened.
Exactly. I don't know why people can't understand that......
Young son Suleman is supposedly 19 years old. Calling him “young” made it sound like he was a 5 year old.
I was curious what GB stood for and googled it, it seems the GB News is the name, not an abbreviation.
If the sub imploded...no one on board would have ever known what happened.
The human brain cannot perceive anything in less than four tenths (.4) of a second. An implosion is virtually instantaneous...meaning a human being in that situation would know and feel nothing. It is a painless and merciful way to die.
As a visual reference, here is a railroad tanker car imploding at ONE atmosphere of differential pressure. If they were at Titanic’s depth, they would have been at almost 400 atmospheres of DP across the hull. The implosion would have been that much faster.

When you are 68, like me, 19 is ‘young’...............
Why do they need our approval?
Looking at the logo, I believe it stands for Great Britain News

An aircraft has to have permission to land at a designated airport in another country...............
Well, it is to me, too, but “young” came across weirdly to me. I had to go look his age up. I had suddenly pictured a 5 year old pressing the wrong button when daddy wasn’t looking.
