oil and gas accounted for 1/3 of its revenues before the war, and half of that came from Europe
so now that Russia is shut out from Europe, its economy has basically shrunk by about 15%
and no, it’s not being made up by the meagre “sales to China” or “sales to India” ... that’s more Russian BS
like many police-state dictatorships, they cover for it by subsidizing food and gasoline prices, so it APPEARS that the economy is going well
I suspect you have few average income friends in Europe. Our friends are not "doing just fine." Or you have a funny definition of what "doing just fine" is.....
Check out the chart over a number of years. Doing fine does not describe our old neighbors' experiences. About doubled form 2016 to end of 2022.
