Pat Benatar, 70, fired away at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), 52, with two simple words after he bizarrely linked her music to child murder.
When conservative talk show host Joe “Pags” Pagliarulo asked Cruz on Wednesday if the US Senate would ever vote to impeach President Biden, Cruz replied: “I don’t think Senate Democrats, if you had video of Joe Biden murdering children dressed as the devil under a full moon while singing Pat Benatar, they still wouldn’t vote to convict.”
Cruz’s comment may have been a reference to the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s 1980 hit “Hell Is For Children” — but the song actually condemns child abuse. Benatar was all fired up Friday when she took to Facebook to post “Nice try!”

I forgave Ted Cruz for withholding endorsement of Trump at the convention that night.
I wouldn’t mind discussing him for President if Trump is eliminated by the Dems and Soros. God forbid.
Perfect example of headline bias...Cruz did nothing of the sort. And he was obviously being satirical.
Look Cruz is one of the very few conservatives in the Senate, but it was just a stupid thing to say.
Cruz is right. The rats 🐀 would not vote to convict him, under ANY circumstances.

Cruz was summarily eliminated from that possibility by the left and by Trump cultists that damaged his name and rep so much that most GOPers would not vote for him now. Just like they’re trying to do to DeSantis.
Now that rockers are old a/f and somebody’s grandma or grandpa, it doesn’t work to make them demonic symbols of evil.

That was the point - to destroy any possible conservative. Starting in 2028, there won’t be any chance for a conservative to be elected.
This is a minor thing, a kerfuffle. No big deal at all. But it is also yet another example of a Republican saying something dumb that bites them in the butt.
What Republicans from Trump on down don’t realize is this: It’s not a level playing field. It’s not even close to being level. So Republicans have to be more careful, more strategic. It’s not fair. But it’s also reality.
Ted is not a natural born citizen. Maybe he can run with arnie.
