The U.S. State Department and Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed Wednesday that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Beijing next week.
According to the State Department, Blinken will depart for a trip to both China and the United Kingdom on June 16, expected to culminate on June 21. The Chinese Foreign Ministry claims Blinken will stay in China for two days, June 18 and 19.
The Chinese government, through its state media arms, had dismissed an upcoming visit from the secretary of state as a rumor as recently as last week.

Blinken is replacing Hunter as the bagman?
This stupid, arrogant little twat and the Biden administration deserve all the humiliation china will give them. But unfortunately, Americans will suffer for it.
they have broken so many long-standing strategic policies, as well as pursued nonsensical domestic policies
They have destroyed “strategic ambiguity” with regards to Taiwan. They have completely destroyed the Nixonian concept of balancing China and Russia against each other. They have depleted weapons stocks in the pursuit of their pursuit of globalist empire, and their vendetta against Russia in non-strategic Ukraine. They have run America into vast debts in service of their ideology. They are pursuing idiotic energy policies.
The list is endless
Petty much.
1. China is our base for manufacturing. Even US businesses bite if you start talking about trade issues, currency etc. HP, Dell, Apple, Motorola, Cisco, GM, Tesla, all manufacture there, and >75% of what’s sold on Amazon is commie Chinese origin.
2. China holds an enormous amount of US securities: https://ticdata.treasury.gov/Publish/mfh.txt
3. China has lobbying firms in their payroll, their US subsidiaries give to party and election campaigns. They targeted key US officials that have influence over trade and security policies.
4. China has been buying influence in the US media for years. From direct engagement of key journalist, paying US media big money to run a story they wrote, to their national chicom media that’s available over here, they have influence.
5. Their market has grown a lot, the market in China is one of the biggest in the world, that’s why US corporations make sure to meet Chinese standards, or not to piss of the government there. Why do you think we rewrote the movie Red Dawn II? They leverage access to this vast market.
6. Other: China has a huge expat population in the US which they can in part mobilize. They are also no longer the chump with outdated junk for a military like in the 1950s. Today China is a powerhouse, second only to the US, more powerful than Russia. We would NEVER DARE do to China what we did to Russia, i.e. pull Taiwan under us like we did Ukraine.
Within the next few years, China will pass us in GDP and I believe they already passed us in industrial output (they are a manufacturing base for Europe as well). At this point, especially with this administration which did nothing about the trade issues and currency manipulation, it is almost inevitable at this point with them growing at 4.5% while we grow at 1.3% this year (just an example of what has been happening for decades).
We call them a near peer so that we feel good about ourselves. In reality they are a peer, they know it, and Blinken can talk nice to them, but has little actual clout or power to be pushing anything. That era is over. If the topic of Ukraine comes up and them delivering weapons (massive numbers of drones which are whacking the Ukrainians left and right) to Russia, we’re not going to push to hard and if we don’t get our way, this meeting will simply fade away in history since we won’t highlight it. If we have a perceived success, it’ll be in the news. China will want something in return and even if we get to hear how China is backing away from arming Russia, it’ll surely be at a disproportionately large economic cost to us.
“Short Pants” Blinken, chirping from the kiddie table of international diplomacy...
I’m with RFK Jr. on this one that is the policy in Ukraine and China is thoroughly consistent its confrontational meant to provoke the other side.
Its a bipartisan policy both parties Biden and RINO want it.
The preparations are for war with China although it may end being an economic blockade after Beijing takes over Taiwan.
War-Mongering Republicans raging about Biden being a squish on China don’t get my attention right now they are blood thirsty in Ukraine now blood thirsty over Taiwan.
China is an economic competitor not a nation to fight a war with or to blockade.
Jake Sulivan the National Security Adviser meeting with his Philippine, South Korean and Japanese counterparts in Tokyo tomorrow and Friday.
The joint strategy to apply pressure on China blockade it is what I see on the horizon.
Agreed!
I always post to much.
Simplified version.
China has leverage and the upper hand here. If we get anything, likely China not arming Russia (why we are wanting to keep it semi hush hush), it will only come at some huge cost to us elsewhere (likely trade issues, Taiwan or both).
If you hear nothing and it is forgotten, that’s because this was a flop.
But even if you hear about some great achievement, it’ll be at a huge cost to us, likely economically or Taiwan.
F*ck ‘em! China needs the US more than the US needs China. It may take a few months to train Indians to make Happy Meal toys, but we will survive!
Antony doesn’t want to spoil his money supply with China.
Blinken going over to service his master Xi.
