Democracy is majority rules and when that majority eventually becomes the mob that it inevitably will be, where do you stand without the structure and framework of a Constitutional Republic?

He doesn't recognize his own ignorance. He doesn't recognize his own hubris. Everything that man writes after the title, except for the passage above, is an act of futility to an informed mind no matter how well written it may be.

To me, "Our Democracy" is code for "our" political power and control structure...and the "our" doesn't include Joe and Jane Public. You see what you get. If a faction consists of less than a majority, relief is supplied by the republican principle, which enables the majority to defeat its sinister views by regular vote. It may clog the administration, it may convulse the society; but it will be unable to execute and mask its violence under the forms of the Constitution. Can you say ANTIFA, boys and girls?
