One in four people who have had cannabis-induced psychosis develop schizophrenia
Science Norway ^ | 6/12/2023 | Anne Lise Stranden

“The increased risk of getting schizophrenia after drug-related psychosis is even higher than what we find in first-degree relatives of those who have been given the diagnosis,” Bramness says.

First-degree relatives are parents and children.

The risk of being diagnosed with the malady for sons and daughters of a sick mother or father is "only" five to ten per cent.

In other words, there is no other risk factor for schizophrenia that is higher than related to drug-induced psychoses.

Trauma, infections and moving to another country are other known risk factors for schizophrenia, but these increase the risk to a much smaller degree.

But I’m just kicking back waiting for Trump to speak. I got the whole night to swat back at your pixiposts and keep bumping this thread, so let’s do it.

“tried to say it meant that neither marijuana nor alcohol was a problem.”

No, that must have been the voices in your head.

Yes it was the pixie voice that whispered “ no more relevant to weed than to alcohol.”

Which doesn’t mean that neither marijuana nor alcohol was a problem. Keep bumping your functional illiteracy.

Right but that contradicts the tenor of the other comment of yours.

Or was “But it’s the weed that’s the problem.” actually not sarcastic?

It’s booze fault

It’s booze’s fault that Allen Ginsberg was one of the fathers of marijuana legalization agitation? And where is the proof he was an alcoholic anyways?

Took everything

Neal said every time he’d give in and give Allen some he’d be too drunk to function

Weirdos with bad habits

Describes must Beats

Although I find the era interesting from where it lay tween WII and the Kesey bridged hippies

LSD on the other hand was indeed a major catalyst for counterculture

Took everything

Doesn't answer the question. It's the fault of what?.

"Alcohol" and now "everything" made him agitate to legalize marijuana?

Who is Neal? Another pot legalization conspirator? I wouldn't trust it as just like other pot pixies they will say anything to divert attention away from pot.

It called out the absurdity of relegating a serious problem to a passing remark in a lengthy rant on a comparable problem.

No pigeonholes, just seeking establish the fact of sarcasm before I comment on the connection between "absurdity of relegating a serious problem to a passing remark in a lengthy rant on a comparable problem" and what you wrote.

If it were me, I would have no problem admitting that what I wrote was not clear rather than blaming it on others' ability to interpret it. You might not believe that but I guarantee you that I would.

You only keep up with confirmation bias
A common symptom here

Why should I waste time you’re not open to information that doesn’t support your narrative

If you don’t know who Neal is you don’t much no offense to be an authority on drug culture

I’m ambivalent about drugs in general

I like the taste of booze but I’m well aware of it’s consequence dealing with addicts all my life

Could pot induce psychotic behavior in large doses it the predisposed

Yes possibly

But that doesn’t mean it caused it

Many things including other drugs can cause it

People here often especially coastal folks equate pot with liberals

May be true in some places but not in flyover lane

You lol at Trump and Oregon electoral maps

Most stoned state in the country yet he carried every county but Portland and Eugene areas and a couple others

Sw Oregon

Huge pot area

Red

"Drug culture" is not my precise concern, but apparently I knew enough about it to suspect this Neal was a part of the legalization conspiracy, didn't I?

And after a google search I see more about him that makes me realize why you do not want to go into detail about him.

Drug culture is precisely your concern

You’re posting an article that pot causes schizophrenia

Pot is part of drug culture same as booze or other drugs

And it became more commonly used in the 60s onwards
