Michael Rubin is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, where he specializes in Iran, Turkey, and the broader Middle East.

A former Pentagon official, Dr. Rubin has lived in post-revolution Iran, Yemen, and both pre- and postwar Iraq. He also spent time with the Taliban before 9/11. For more than a decade, he taught classes at sea about the Horn of Africa and Middle East conflicts, culture, and terrorism, to deployed US Navy and Marine units.

Fifty-seven shades of internationalism, with this standing out to me "spent time with the Taliban before 9/11" (screams of Spook)

Well it is clear that you disagree with my analysis.

Correct.

However you have not argued any logical refutations [...]

False! Go re-read my previous posting! I successfully refuted each and every of your arguments, point by point - by quoting them verbatim and then revealing that they were logically invalid (fallacious). These are called refutations. You did not deny or disprove any of these refutations, meaning that you do not dispute their validity.

[...] or offered a compelling alternative argument.

To repeat myself: For most of the 20th century and 21st century, Russia has been America's sworn enemy. Especially after it acquired nuclear weapons (its arsenal is now larger than ours, and the majority of those weapons are aimed at us), it would be fair to characterize Russia as our preeminent geopolitical and military enemy.

Thus: Whatever weakens, embarrasses, confuses, confounds, or distracts our enemy is good for America. Whatever comforts, aids, or supports Russia's victims is thus likewise in American interests.

You have not even attempted to address that argument, except to call it "not compelling."

Regards,
