Well, here we are boys and girls it is Anne Frank's birthday and let us remember the Lithuanians, Latvians, Estonians and others including the Ukrainians who helped the Nazis perpetrate their evil deeds.

Why must we remember first for the sake of those like Anne Frank who died and for sake of those scarred by the Holocaust.

But also to detoxify ourselves from raging hatred associated with the Ukraine War that glorifies Ukraine in relation to Vladimir Putin and Russia.

Similar glorification is applied to the Baltic nations like Lithuania as well.

Heck she’s wearing the black shirt for this speech in Israel from her “Mussolini Collection”.

The holocaust ended 78 years ago. The Lithuanians of today need to be judged by their actions of today.

Or should we judge you by the actions of your great grandfather? Or conversely, if he was a great man, should you be given glory for his deeds?

The Lithuanians of today have trouble acknowledging the past wrongs in fact they seem in utter denial would rather be angry about Russia and Putin than deal with their own not so glorious heritage.

They were victimized by the Communists that’s true but they made the call to join the Nazis in opposition to the Communists oops.

Those were the only options they had in 1941-45.
At least the nazis didn’t invade them, not that they wouldn’t have if they had felt the need, but so it was. If the nazis are the only “friendlies” around then they are your allies by default.

Poland had the option (a very poor one as it turned out) to align with the western allies. That’s because the nazis started off by doing unto them what the Soviets were doing unto the Balts.

Dealing with their heritage is not a proximate problem, if it is one at all. The Russians and Putin are a problem of here and now.

Ok… they still have parades for the local SS division, today. I’m happy to judge them by today.

“Today Russia tomorrow the world”?

That notion is Bravo Sierra.

The opponents of Russia are interested in world conquest first Russia then China.

BS

What were the “opponents of Russia” doing vs Russia in Jan 2022? Zip. The usual suspects had just approved Nordstream 2.

Russia was collecting vast sums from oil&gas. And misusing all that money, but nobody cared.

If you want to defend your “world conquest” thesis vis-a-vis Russia, then bring up specific policies pre- 2/2022

Years of provocations, years and years leading up to February 2022.

Then after February 2022 when Russia was provoked to action Nord Stream was taken out.

The provocation of China to similar action over Taiwan well underway.

If China does something that can be demonized then the economic steps will intensify just like they have with Russia.

Sanctions I project a blockade of China inside the South China Sea preventing China from using sea routes to trade.

Oh, “years and years”. And no specifics.

In the meantime Russia got MFN status in 1996, and did f-all with it. That, btw, is the grand prize in international trade, the golden ticket into the US market. China struggled to get it and was granted MFN only in 2001.

There are hordes of people, btw, with legit complaints about the effects of China trade policies, lots of them in FR. Is all that a conspiracy vs China?

If China blockades or invades Taiwan, yes, I see a counter- blockade vs China. China should not be making war vs Taiwan.

If Russia hadn’t invaded Ukraine the Euros would still be making nice with Putin, like Biden, Merkel and Macron were.

The folks in DC knew what they were doing with Ukraine provoking Russia so Europe would bend the knee to the “Deep State”.

It was decided that NATO would expand eastward and it did one nation or two at a time towards Poland, the Baltics up against Russia.

It was decided by Bill Clinton and George Kennan the diplomat who authored containment of the Soviet Union warned against it.

He said it would end up creating problems back in the 1990’s.

Uh huh.
All the Eastern Euro Nato expansion was done decades earlier. Since then Nato had been getting weaker and weaker year by year as budgets kept getting cut and force structures reduced in all the major countries.

Trump was laughed at by the masters of the universe when he complained about it. So were the Poles.

This is a silly argument.

The Nazis were allies with the Communists in 1939. Germany and Soviet Russia dismembered Poland as allies, as a team. Molotov-Ribbentrop? How did the Katyn forest massacre occur if the Russians weren’t part of the invasion of Poland in 1939?

Amazing how people in the media and even some here ignore the blatant nazi symbols on the Ukraine military, I mean it’s not like a few bad apples, but literally whole divisions!

Temporary allies, an expedient. Fundamental enemies. Both knew there was a deathmatch coming.
And all of Eastern Europe was caught between them.
