The engineer battalions of the 33rd Mechanized and 47th Assault Brigades, the lead formations in Ukraine’s 2023 counteroffensive, suffered heavy equipment losses in their assault just south of Mala Tokmachka last week.
The losses include at least five of the battalions’ specialized engineering vehicles. Fitted with mineplows and minerollers, these vehicles lead tanks and infantry fighting vehicles through minefields, plowing and rolling a path so the tanks and IFVs can break through enemy defenses.

unique [ yoo-neek ] adjective
existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics: a unique copy of an ancient manuscript.
If there's more than one of them, they aren't unique.
Sucks to have your Neocon friends FINALLY getting spanked, doesn’t it. I would have preferred that Americans do it at the ballot boxes, but you guys don’t permit that anymore, so whatever...
you lose

More propaganda. Ukraine is a top notch fighting force and they would never lose that much equipment. Russia is losing much more equipment because it is documented by mr speedy from texas who knows everything about the equipment losses by ruzzia and so does USMC Resmom.
Lies! All videos of burning Leopard Tanks ate Russian photoshopped of Russian Tanks. German tanks are fireproof and can not burn. Mines can not hurt them! No Ukrainian Tanks have been lost! Not one. All talk of such things is just Russian Propaganda. The victory advance continues Russians are fleeing in a panic, shooting their own people. Only a few Ukrainian freedom fighters have lost their lives. The attack is driving the Russians out of sacred Ukraine.
Big deal!
The things are designed to be disposable in battle...
Especially when they are FREE!!!!
Not all that surprising.
In war there are some breaching maneuvers where you attack enemy strong points in an attempt to quickly break through into rear unprotected areas. This is often the highest risk and highest loss types of maneuvers.
Other times you try flanking maneuvers or encirclement to capture troops or cause them to retreat.
The military leaders of Ukraine get to choose their methods. Personally, I would like to see more flanking moves into Russian territory to get behind Russian defensive positions in Ukraine. Politically risky, but probably more military benefit as it will call for more Russian troops to be pulled from Ukraine and onto the Russian border.
An enlarged version of that photo (your reply 27), shows the International MaxxPro having mine breaching gear. The area of the HMMWV might include debris from 2 of such HMMWV vehicles.
With technology advanced, the nature of war has changed and has made tanks and armored vehicles outdated, just like the battleship. They are just targets for long range precision munitions.
Mud season is over (feb-apr).
Unlikely the vehicles are ‘lost’. They were likely taken out of action by mines. They will be recovered and their tracks repaired and returned to duty. SOP for all tankers to recover their vehicles, repair the tracks and drive train to bring them back to duty.
I attended the Armor School at Ft Knox in 1973.. “Doctrine” then was, “on the battlefield, consider yourself a 55 ton infantryman.”. That is even more so today.
Your logic is irrefutable, “Ukrainians “ should have welcomed occupation with open arms as France Belgium Denmark Norway and soviets should have /s
