ORLANDO — Arlo Dennis has decided on a deadline to get their family out of Florida: July 1.
That is the day a slate of new laws signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis targeting the LGBTQ community take effect. Doctors will be allowed to deny care based on their moral beliefs. The use of preferred pronouns will be banned in public schools. And children will be barred from attending drag shows, among other measures. One law that prohibits gender-affirming health care for transgender people under the age of 18 is already being enforced.
The Republican governor vying to become president in the 2024 election championed the bills as part of his “Florida Blueprint.” His critics call it “the slate of hate.”
For Dennis, they add up to a difficult but urgent decision to flee. “I’m a trans adult. I have gender nonconforming children, and these laws are just so specifically targeting our communities that I don’t feel like my parenting relationship is going to continue to be respected,” Dennis said. “We just low grade don’t feel safe.”

I will gladly pay for 10 one way tickets to Venezuela for the poor cross dressers under attack in Florida.
Good, seriously.
This won’t hurt Florida one damn bit.
Most of these weirdos cost the tax payer lots. With them are associated other issues.
Florida should offer them a one way ticket to California.
This is the beauty of America.. there are 50 states to choose from.
They did the right thing. Move someplace where other people have the same culture.
Less liberals, more greatness....
Horse apples.
And good riddance.
The children will be safer......
I’m sorry for them, but imposing mental illness as a norm on an entire civilization because you refuse to deal with your own, is not acceptable.
How many families are that?

Florida anti-LGBTQ laws prompt families who can't practice their degeneracy to flee
Doctors will be allowed to deny care based on their moral beliefs.
Tell me you are a radical abortion proponent without telling me you are a radical abortion proponent. Yes I know the subject is LGBQ but these are the same people who want conscience rights for health care providers outlawed so they will be forced to perform abortions.
PS. It is not just any care that doctors will be allowed to deny but the mutilation of children and even adults if it goes against their sincerely held beliefs. There is a threshold.
Oh and where was these idiots when doctors were denying potential life saving care to persons who refused the COVID vaccine?
Good! The great self sorting continues. Next is national divorce.
This is presented as if it’s a bug, but it looks more like a feature.
99.9% of Florida gays aren’t going anywhere.
Cool!
Well, BYE!
Drama queens. Nothing in any of these laws is threatening to these people. That is complete hogwash. Not allowing for the indoctrination and surgical mutilation of children is hardly threatening.
Considering the belligerent and freakish nature of many of these people I think the State of Florida is being extremely tolerant. If anybody is threatening to anyone else it is they to normal people and particularly to the children of normal people
