Vivek Ramaswamy: I Would Pardon Trump If Elected
Breitbart ^ | 06/11/2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 06/11/2023 7:28:33 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if he were elected president that he would pardon former President Donald Trump if convicted in the Mar-a-Lago documents case.

Anchor Dana Bash said, “So before you heard any details of the allegations in the Trump indictment, you put out a statement saying if you become president, you would pardon Donald Trump on day one. Now you’ve seen the allegations, and you’ve seen that he stored highly classified information like nuclear secrets and others in unsecured areas of his country club. Given everything that you’ve seen, do you stand by your promise to pardon him if he is convicted?”

Yes, he's great. I really like this quote from the article: Ramaswamy said, “The top question actually we should be asking is what did Biden tell Merrick Garland? And what did Merrick Garland tell Jack Smith?

The key thing is to avoid getting bogged down with the details of the indictment, but to focus on the process questions around it. Rama understood this immediately, which is why he announced the prospective pardon before the indictment was unsealed.

Yes, I agree about him making a fine VP. He reminds me a little of President Trump....a Washington outsider. Course, I don’t know too much about him, yet. But from what Vivek has said and what I have heard, I do like him. I will continue to listen with an open mind as he speaks. [I still intend to vote for President Trump...even if I have to write his name in.]

This man is good, and he’s smart. This is his audition for an influential position in Trump’s White House - and I hope he gets it.

I often wonder why so many folks, with no chance at the nomination, throw their hats into the ring.

Then I remember cabinet posts, vice-president and ambassadorships.

Then I began to think about DeSantis/Trump. What would it take for Trump to step aside, and endorse DeSantis?

Best I can come up with is a blanket pardon for Trump, plus a cabinet appointment.

That of Attorney General.

Question: Is that too much of an ask?

This guy is such a Trump supporter. Why is he running against him? He’ll pardon Trump? What’s the crime?

So, every Presidential candidate doesn’t get to talk about their platform they have to talk about this phony, B.S indictment. That alone has greatly given Crooked Joe a huge advantage. The Repukes are doing nothing. Why aren’t they impeaching him, at the very least, to level the playing field a little bit. Vivek is the only one beside Trump who even deserves future consideration. The others are all in on it and it’s obvious

The entire republican party on the federal level is a trainwreck. They do not represent their voters. They do not care about America. The question of pardoning Trump is not the question we should be asking ourselves. What we need to be asking is how do we prevent a totalitarian takeover of America? It’s obvious by now that both parties are in on it.

If elected? Sorry, that’s not going to happen in the US. Maybe the Indian anchor baby can gain office in India, but not here in the US. Ain’t happening. Personally, if he is on the ballot, president or vice-president, I’ll skip voting or vote for the Democrat.

An excellent chance, as it turns out.

But Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Chris Christy, that governor of East Dakota....?

Somewhat less of a chance, imho.

***The entire republican party on the federal level is a trainwreck***

I have posted often: the GOP has reverted back to the do nothing Whig Party from which they derived. The useless Whigs led us into a civil war.

***What we need to be asking is how do we prevent a totalitarian takeover of America? It’s obvious by now that both parties are in on it***

I think you've got it! In fact, the totalitarian takeover has already happened; too many Americans are just too frightened to face the consequences. PLUS: historically, no tyranny was ever set aside by popular vote.

I like what I’ve seen of Vivek, but his promised pardon “if elected” is just silly. He’s a vanity candidate running for name-recognition and perhaps a cabinet position. He’s not going to be elected. Period. So he may as well promise to hold his inaugural ball on the moon.

True, Dana Bash is just a talking parrot - a waste of time. She doesn't care what you say; her interview is scripted and/or programmed. You might as well be talking to the cat.

Of course back bench candidates need the media exposure; I don't envy them.
