Russia will start deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus after special storage facilities are ready on July 7-8, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday, Moscow’s first move of such bombs outside Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union.
More than 15 months into the biggest land war in Europe since World War Two, Putin says the United States and its Western allies are pumping arms into Ukraine as part of an expanding proxy war aimed at bringing Russia to its knees.
Putin in March announced he wanted to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, an apparent warning to the U.S.-led NATO military alliance over it support for Ukraine.
Leading NATO countries say they will support Ukraine and help it defend itself for as long as it takes from what Kyiv casts as an imperial-style land grab by Russia which threatens the survival of the Ukrainian state.
“Everything is going according to plan,” Putin told Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko when discussing the planned nuclear deployment during talks at the Russian leader’s Black Sea summer retreat in Sochi.
“Preparation of the relevant facilities ends on July 7-8, and we will immediately begin activities related to the deployment of appropriate types of weapons on your territory,” Putin said, according to a Kremlin transcript of his remarks. *** Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine will not rest however until every last Russian soldier is ejected from his country, which he wants to join NATO as soon as possible.
Putin’s nuclear move is being watched closely by both the United States and its NATO allies in Europe and by China, which has repeatedly cautioned against the use of nuclear weapons in the conflict.

And Belarus will be a nuclear target for NATO again. So if Russia fires a ‘tactical’ nuke at Poland NATO will respond by obliterating Russia and Belarus.
There will be no proportional response to nuclear weapons being unleashed. There can’t be.
Which means nukes are already there.

This has already been hashed out at the UN with reps from one side saying no to tactical nukes in Belarus and the other side saying five NATO countries host US tactical nukes and round and round it goes.

It’s the Reagan/Thatcher 1983 Pershing II gambit all over again. When NATO was confronted by overwhelming Warsaw Pact conventional offensive weapons in Germany it reacted by putting the same theater nukes in the path of the threat as a tripwire to nuclear Armageddon. It’s the mirror image of 1983. It was the best move for Reagan and Thatcher in ‘83, it will serve Russia well in avoiding a conventional attack by NATO today.

Lobbing nukes is not some one-way parlor game, played by infants in adult bodies who think that if they just believe hard enough that their guy is always winning (in spite of reality indicating precisely the opposite) he is winning and should be propped up by the West at any cost.
To such folks I recommend reading Cormack McCarthy's The Road because if all of the warmongering fools and grifters keep pushing to keep their grift, money laundering gigs and biolabs going in Youcrayne what McCarthy describes in his novel has a decent chance of becoming a reality in nearly every Western country, and most certainly in America.
If that happens, playing with your Ghost Of Kiev™ and Zelenskyyyyy the Gay Dancing Hero™ action figures won't save you from being barbequed or vaporized, or murdered by roving bands of desperate people.
