My 2 cents adjusted for inflation: Russia is a favorite bogeyman for the left. Mostly because of convenience since Americans have been conditioned to distrust Russia since the late nineteenth forties. We knew them commie bastards hated us. Mostly though I don’t think Russia Ukraine is a catalyst for a change in global order. That is being engineered by China who right now has the best chance to create a world government with the Han dynasty and the CCP in charge of almost everything. The Ukraine conflict is happening because China helped put Biden in charge and everything else is a downstream effect of that.

Seems obvious to me that while Russia is spending a fortune on the war and the US is spending a fortune on supporting Ukraine China is making a fortune and laughing all the way to the bank.
A little trivia. Russia has historically been massively not invited to Davos. There have been one or two anti-Putin types invited. And they invited Putin once when they were still thinking they could co-opt him and run Russia from DC and London.
