Virtually alone among major auto manufacturers, Toyota has been a skeptic about the conversion of vehicle fleets to battery-powered electric vehicles. For people incapable of thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead, EVs are “zero emission” and therefore “save the planet” from CO2 (presumed to control the earth’s temperature despite no statistical correlation). But this leaves out the environmental and CO2 cost of generating and transmitting electricity (mostly by burning coal in the US and many other countries), manufacturing (and recycling) the enormous batteries, and the energy and wear and tear cost of the much-heavier cars that result. Energy losses due to resistance in power lines generates heat and costs a substantial fraction of the energy input before the consumer uses the output.
Nonetheless, rival manufacturers such as Ford and GM have leapt into the transition and are investing bullions and enduring billions in losses to convert their products to EVs.
Yesterday, Toyota released a study demonstrating that use of the “eco mode” on some of its gasoline-powered vehicles saves CO2 emissions and gasoline consumption far more than people realize and may rival any potential savings from conversion to EVs. Karl Furlong of Car Buzz writes:
Toyota has conducted a study that demonstrates the significant reduction in tailpipe CO2 emissions that can be achieved if more customers use their vehicles' Eco or EV driving modes. The latter mode applies to plug-in hybrids like the RAV4 Prime, which have large enough batteries to sustain brief periods of driving on only electric power.
While such driving modes are usually associated with sluggish throttle response, customers inclined to ignore these more efficient driving modes could be encouraged to use them more often if they knew the benefits.

Why not just call man-made global warming (or climate change) a hoax?
The Left is always looking for green energy solutions but no one wants to mention the N-word (nuclear).
THIS:
Is not a replacement for THIS:
It is a hoax, but it’s much easier to deceive someone than convince them they’ve been deceived. And so many gullible fools especially they younger ones have had it pounded into them from kindergarten through college that those who bring the truth are attacked for stating the truth. Never mind that climate scammers and fear mongers have NEVER been right in their predictions, critical thinking is a lost art in the younger generations.
We need to do it anyway—to support slave labor lithium mining in Africa!
;-)
With nuclear power, the whole problem just disappears.
From an engineering perspective, EV’s are among the worst possible alternatives for transportation. The actual and environmental costs alone to produce the raw materials to build the batteries is a non-starter if you’re really interested in the environment, not too mention the energy loss in the conversions to get power to the wheels.
Clearly a political solution. Why?
We have plenty of lithium in America

“Yesterday, Toyota released a study demonstrating that use of the “eco mode” on some of its gasoline-powered vehicles saves CO2 emissions and gasoline consumption far more than people realize and may rival any potential savings from conversion to EVs.”
This has been debunked since it goes against WEF Mandate 1536, which requires electric cars. Therefore I informed Facebook to block dissemination of this study.
Eagerly awaiting the faux EV expert/owner, TeslaGator, to tell us Toyota is wrong.
But they are a necessary tool to reduce and eventually eliminate individual freedoms and increase government control.....
Thats an FJ crusier lol.
They make all sorts of off road trucks…. Thats really not one
You can make 5 hybrid vehicles with the same resources to make 1 EV with minimal CO2 benefit differential between them.
Even Elon agrees that electric cars are an option, not a replacement.

The Japanese are deep thinkers and know EV’s will destroy their automotive industry as well as knowing there is no scientific evidence to support glow-bull warming. Granted, they have their share of lefties, but not as deeply embedded in their society as ours.
“With nuclear power, the whole problem just disappears.”
I don’t know of any nuclear reactors that fit in cars, but it would be a fun project to try to make one!
Here’s an article that will really get our EV-pushers excited today, as EV mandates will ASSURE this result:
“The WEF seeks to drastically reduce the number of private vehicles by 2050”
