The California Senate has passed legislation that prevents employers from requiring workers to confront active shooters or shoplifters.
Passed May 31, Senate Bill 553 contains provisions prohibiting employers from maintaining such policies.
“With growing awareness of workplace violence, California needs smarter guidelines to keep workers safe in the office or on the job site,” said Senator Dave Cortese (D-San Jose), in a CSA report.
“Under my SB 553, employers would be prohibited from forcing their workers to confront active shoplifters, and all retail employees would be trained on how to react to active shoplifting. The legislation has other provisions that keep people safe at work. Let’s take every reasonable step to prevent another workplace assault or shooting.”

Oh wow. Print free “Come in and steal!” signs to give to businesses there.

Some people need to confront the Calif. Legislature.
They are the professional bandits.

Dear California businesses. I have a solution for this that would work and prevent almost all shoplifting and would allow you to continue to do businesses in California without confronting active shooters or shoplifters. Have someone on your staff PM me here with contact information.

Can shoplifters order online and have employees load their cars when they arrive?

Companies fire employees who atop shoplifters.

Pretty cool if you’re under 21: Rather than risking jail by trying to buy alcohol, now you simply walk out with it, and cannot be stopped.

Interfering with the official actions of state-authorized bandits is, of course, not legal. /s

I see actual storefronts gone within three years. You’d walk up to a window and pick up what you ordered via the internet. Building would be off-limits for people to ‘browse’.

I have been wracking my brain trying to figure a way to punish the state of California. I don’t like California. Never been there but I don’t like what I read about them.
Why didn’t I think of forcing something like this law on them earlier? Probably because I didn’t think there was any chance to get the necessary support for such a destructive plan.
And, maybe, because I am not yet so angry that I want to harm every single individual in the state.
This law should just about finish that state off.

In a sane world, federal marshals would arrest everyone in the State legislature and the governor himself to answer charges of running a racketeering and corrupt criminal organization under the guise of a political party.

Be a shame if lost Canadian sealers mistook Dave Cortese for a baby Harp seal.
I'm just saying.
