I personally think Gingrich’s advice is not only bad but crazy, voters want to see their candidates debate each other, in an open forum.

Isn't this the same tactic of another octogenarian?

I just think about Ronna Romney’s stipulation that all candidates must support the eventual Republican nominee.

But did Jeb Bush support the eventual Republican nominee in 2016?? No.

Did Carly Fiorina support the eventual Republican nominee in 2016?? No.

Did John Kasich support the eventual Republican nominee in 2016?? No.

Will Chris Christie support the eventual Republican nominee (Trump)?? No.

Will Asa Hutchinson support the eventual Republican nominee?? No.

Etc. Etc.

So these debates are are choreographed sham with a bunch of phonies.

You skip over the entire point, do people over 70 vote, regardless of mail in or at the polls, not only do they vote but they vote in higher numbers than any other voting block.

To write them off is a sure-fire way to lose.

RE: Ha, kind of like the Manning Brothers on MNF.

It would be EPIC. Every American patriot would tune in just to hear TRUMP as he opines. Ratings would go through the roof as well as his poll numbers.

Most importantly, TRUTH would be made known.

Why are you so afraid to debate?

You sound irrational. I haven't been invited.

“Trump alone can’t get much done even if he wins without Republicans in Congress, unless of course he goes along with Democrats.”

In case you haven’t noticed, the Republicans—95% of them— are the problem

You worry about the McRomBushes. I’d worry more about handing Biden a credible reason not to debate in the general election. Not to mention imo the electorate should hear Trumps positions and have them put to the test in the public sphere. Unless you’re concerned Trump’s lead will evaporate in debates. Which imo are one of his strengths.

That and the opinion backed money called odds have him at 2/1, DeSantis 4/1-

the rest-(Pence next 35/1) are higher than Trump ever was in 2016.

and also some 20% of the GOP won’t vote for anyone else.

the GOP is MAGA or Democrat.

looking forward to hearing Christie’s ideas-an attorney that specializes in election fraud yet forgot to comment once on the election fraud.

this article is on target. anyone not knowing where Trump stands on the issues is playing stupid.

As much as there is logic in that, I think Trump will because of his all-about-me narcism. He won’t be able to pass up the opportunity to toss it up with everyone for a few headlines. Besides, the Republican party should condition sanction of his candidacy upon his participation. Why not, he didn’t take over the RNC like most presidents.

Trump’s second administration will do even better than last time. Far better, if he has our support. The RINOs in congress have been exposed and will be under a microscope

You sound irrational.

And yet here you are arguing with me insisting that it's irrational to expect all of the candidates for the presidency to show up to debate.

Newt is right. Trump has a record to run on. Makes no sense being in a so called debate with a bunch of RINO dogs nipping at his heels.

Correct. Another question is do they vote for 80 year old candidates? I hope not.

“I say TRUMP should have his own show on Truth Social...”

How about Tucker interviewing him on Twitter during the debate?

Then what’s the point..

If Trump wins and becomes POTUS again, without a congress willing to support him, will get nothing done, except thru executive orders, which will be completely undone on day one of a new Democratic Administration, just like what Biden did on his first day in office.

Trump did get tax cuts passed with Republican help, Mitch McConnell did get 3 Trump nominees on the Supreme Court, he also kept Merrick Garland off the Supreme Court, not to mention all the Trump nominees to other Federal Court judgeships.

Who cares about your vote? Like they really count them.

Well then don't vote. Who cares, right? In fact, why would you even waste time talking about it? If you really thing your vote isn't going to be counted, then this is all just an exercise in yelling at clouds.

Donald Trump will be 78 by the election in 2024.

and 82 assuming he wins and makes it 4 years in office.

There is Donald Trump 80 year olds and there is Joe Biden 80 years old.

What will all the other non-Trump candidates debate about? Will any of them say “let’s not make America great again, let’s just keep it going the way the left is pushing it”? Or, will they be forced to defend the main planks of the MAGA movement, and then claim they’ll do it better but without mean tweets?
