The real goal is not to perform “reparations” but, as always with these things, to fleece a willing taxpayer.
How it’ll work will be like every other government social program - about 10% of the cash will make it into the hands of the “deserving” and the other 90% will go to support the government infrastructure and employees who manage the program.
And, of course, once reparations are paid, that additional government spending won’t go away because it’ll be the new budgetary baseline.
If reparations are to be paid it should be paid by slave owners not their dependents nor the general public. This is just a scam to further divide blacks and whites.
I wonder if they will request blue helmeted UN soldiers to enforce those payments.
They want to make damn sure festering race relations remain an active infection for generations to come. There is power in that to be gained and held, and big money to be made for the elites.

And they should pay the rest of us for (1) the welfare costs that we have borne due to their self-destructive behavour and (2) the benefits of the technology that they would not have received (clean water, etc.) if their ancestors had never been enslaved.
They already got their reparations, in trillions spent over 50-60 years of Great Society and beyond, welfare programs. Affirmative action jobs and college admissions.

When Japanese Americans got 30,000 each in reparations, they had to still be living and having had been in internment camps. My secretary got 30,000, as did her husband and her mother. But the land that was taken from them in Florin CA was worth 1.2 million at the time they got 30,000 each.
When blacks stop playing the victim card, look at the rate of black on black crime, value education, hold fathers responsible, they will blossom in the US economy like they have never done before. The power of “reparations” is already in their own hands to improve their lives.
It is unfair for citizens whose ancestors were not even here during slavery to have to pay taxes for reparations to people who have not been slaves.
