Former US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell Explains How Jack Smith Nearly Rekindled Conflict in the Balkans to Get Trump
Richard Grenell was one of the Donald Trump administration’s brightest stars. The former spokesman to the UN in the George W. Bush administration, Grenell was named ambassador to Germany in 2018, and in 2020 became acting director of National Intelligence where he declassified information that helped expose the Department of Justice’s anti-Trump plot. Lesser known is the role that Grenell played mediating between once warring sides in the Balkans as special presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo peace negotiations. And it was in that post where Grenell first came across Jack Smith.
At the time, the special counsel named to investigate the leading candidate for the 2024 Republican nomination was chief prosecutor for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers at the Hague, Netherlands. The international court is charged with investigating crimes committed during the wars that set the former Yugoslavia ablaze during the 1990s. In 2020, as the Trump White House was on the verge of brokering historic agreements between Serbia and Kosovo, Smith arrested the sitting Kosovar president, Hashim Thaci. And now some European leaders are up in arms about the allegedly phony charges against the man Joe Biden once called “the George Washington on Kosovo.”
As Grenell explains, it's a complicated story, but absolutely essential background for understanding the character and the methods of the man the DOJ has designated to lead the 2024 leg of its ongoing campaign to Get Trump. Here’s an edited transcript of my interview with Ambassador Grenell for my Epoch TV show Over the Target.

A lot of Western media outlets are starting to pay attention to this story because the prime minister of Albania was speaking before the Council of Europe and chastising it for allowing the president of Kosovo to remain in jail on trumped-up charges. He's in the Hague. And the president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has been there for years and the charges are weak and the prosecutor who put him there is Jack Smith.
This is a very dense case. It's not super sexy, it's not going to be able to be told in 30 seconds. You're not going to understand it in one minute. But there's a long history of what's been happening. And I've been involved in it for a very long time.

If you remember back to when Smith was named the big emphasis was on the fact that he investigated “war crimes”. I believe that Smith was deliberately chosen BECAUSE they wanted to elevate Trump’s “crimes” to the same level of “war crimes” in the minds of the public.
Essentially, the Media-Dem Party views Trump as a “war criminal” because they see what he advocated as a declaration of war on their party’s 60-year effort to destroy the country from within.

The truth is, Trump knows all this crap: what they’ve been doing to him since Day -100. You can bet he knew the stunt that a low rent political hack like Jack “Smith” pulled was a set by the Clinton / Obama gang back in the day.
He’s Trump. He has a network that no one on Earth has. He hears things. Makes his blood boil, as it would any normal person.
Smith is not just partisan and biased - he’s literally working for the other side under the pretense of neutrality.
It’s fiction. And Trump knows it.
Ergo his rather brittle temperment.

Remember Eric Holder? Obama’s AG. Holder said he was “Obama’s wingman.” If Barr had said, “I’m Trump’s wingman,” they would have impeached him the next day, and Mitch would have gone right along.
The entire top of the Fedgov is corrupt, including probably 30% of the Senate.
Then there's Peter Strzok, who after being told by an FBI agent that the preliminary investigation into General Flynn's activities had come up with nothing, and they were going to close the case, Strzok tells him not to close the case just yet, until he heard back from him. Strzok goes to Comey. They set up Flynn by dropping by his White House office to "interview" him. Comey later admitted that dropping in at the White House wasn't normal procedure, but they figured they could get away with it since the Administration was new, and they considered them sitting ducks. Strzok and Pientka meet with Flynn. The original 302 form covering the interview in which Pientka states he didn't believe that Flynn was lying, mysteriously goes missing and is never found. And the rest is history. Railroading is the primary function of the FBI and DOJ.
Trump has kept his temper in remarkable control for a man that has been hammered on from the day he threw his hat in the Presidential ring. He's been under a microscope for 7+ years. There is no way I could ever be as calm and in control as Trump has been in public all these years. I could never be as gracious as he has been when talking about his political enemies. I'd be a screeching hyena, biting, scratching, and gouging my enemies, and would use many expletives when making my point. I could never hold in the things I'm sure he would like to say, but won't. I don't know how he does it. I couldn't. I would immediately go for the throat.
Great post - I read the whole interview and it appears to me that this Jack Smith person is a traitor, and should be hunted down, prosecuted, and hung in the public square.

Hague Court Publishes Details of Hashim Thaci’s Alleged War Crimes
The charges have mainly been "redacted" (secret). We do love secret charges in Anglo-Saxon law, don't we? Thought that went out with Henry VIII and his daughter Elizabeth Regina, but I was wrong.
The newly published charges appear weak considering what went on in the Balkans during the post-Tito wars. But of course Thaci may be guilty of those charges, who knows?
