Ron DeSantis praised Anthony Fauci for Covid response in spring 2020 for ‘really doing a good job’

Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is attacking former President Donald Trump for “turning the country over to [Dr. Anthony] Fauci in March 2020” but DeSantis was praising the chief public health official at the same time in previously unreported quotes, saying Fauci was “really, really good and really, really helpful” and “really doing a good job.”

In other comments, the Florida governor said he deferred to Fauci’s guidance on COVID-19 restrictions and later cited his guidance when communicating the policies he was putting in place early in the pandemic in the state of Florida.

“You have a lot of people there who are working very, very hard, and they’re not getting a lot of sleep,” DeSantis said on March 25, 2020, at a briefing on Florida’s response. “And they’re really focusing on a big country that we have. And from Dr. Birx to Dr. Fauci to the vice president who’s worked very hard, the surgeon general, they’re really doing a good job. It’s a tough, tough situation, but they’re working hard.”

—> Ask yourself why did Trump put him front and center and to this day has never been critical of Fauci,

Trump has been very critical of Fauci.

You need to Google it.

So, these are comments he made in April 2020?

So what? What did he say in August 2020?

I know my best friend talking to me down there said her son was going to start high school normally - and they do school almost year-round. This was well back in August.

Musk just helped Santis launch his campaign with the first-ever exclusive Twitter Spaces town hall. Santis just gave Musk’s Chicom SpaceX full immunity from lawsuits if it hurts citizens with debris as well. They’re thick as thieves.

I guess Rhonda is a Christian of some sort, but his wife very obviously doesn’t follow God’s word to submit to her husband’s leadership. So I can’t take his abortion posturing seriously. Casey runs their entire family and also the campaign. It’s been reported on by both leftist and conservative media.

DeSantis praised Fauci in the spring of 2020 when that was a pretty universal thing to do. Trump gave Fauci a MEDAL in January of 2021.

“Unfortunately, most people believed Fauci was working in the interest of America’s health. I can’t fault DeSantis on this one.”

There was an unknown threat and we didn’t know a lot about it at first. DeSantis acted on what he knew at the time. As DeSantis learned more, he quickly reduced or eliminated restrictions.

Some irrational people say that DeSantis was a “hypocrite” for imposing restrictions and then (as he knew more) removing restrictions. No, an intelligent person adjusts his response as he learns more about a threat and what is and isn’t helpful. Some people seem to be saying that DeSantis should have been perfect and known everything in advance, unlike everyone else on earth.

People who are not thoughtful or who are ideologically-driven don’t learn anything. They usually double-down on doing things that are ineffective or even harmful - someone like Cuomo, for example. And Trump is on record saying that Cuomo handled the situation in his state better than DeSantis did in Florida. That should tell you all you need to know about Trump.

All the facts not having been exposed in early 2020, it may have appeared that he was doing a good job rather than a politically motivated fraud. So a pass on the point seems appropriate. Failing to speak out later is another matter. When did he first call out Fauci for his lies?

And what, at the time, was Trump saying about “Tony” his good friend and fellow New Yorker? I remembering them yucking it up and reminiscing about Tony’s days leading the basketball team at Regis High.

Oh good God.

If she did “submit to her husband”, you’d criticize her for not doing anything while Ron has to run a state, a family including his sick wife, and now a campaign. You’d call her a millstone around his neck.

I can’t confirm it, but I suspect Fauci isn’t on Trump’s nice list.
But that keeps Fauci from being used as a martyr for the Deep State that locked the world down and stole an election..

Fauci isn’t a bit player in the coup and Trump has been sort of vague about who was ultimately involved..
It’s not just election workers. It goes to all levels of this Govt..

And with all that, Trump didn’t call for a Revolution.
Why not?
Trump’s focused on an election in 2024 instead.

Seems foolish to laser point the country to a future potential stolen election when real blood spilled in the Swamp, especially the likes of Fauci, would satisfy a lust for vengeance/justice..

One could say Trump is keeping the country from boiling over and out of a real civil/revolutionary war on this soil..

Some have argued that there’s been a plan in place to ultimately catch the Swamp, and it was conducted during Trump’s term, and still ongoing..

And the evidence of an military precision operation ongoing is one compelling argument I’ve seen on Trump’s Truth Social..

Not from Trump, though. He’s got people focused on an election in 2024..

Good question. None. Because they can’t possibly get anything on Ron.

Ron DeSantis praised Anthony Fauci for Covid response in spring 2020 for ‘really doing a good job’

Trump thought the same thing because he kept letting Fauci convince him to keep things shut down.

Ask yourself, did Trump fire Fauci or not ??

The answer is obviously he did not fire Fauci, Why ??

Trump put Fauci and Birx front and center in his Covid response, I don’t fault him initially, it was obvious Fauci was a fraud early in 2020 and Trump never fired him, am I wrong about that ??

If he did criticize Fauci, why didn’t he fire him after the election when he was a lame duck and had nothing to lose ??

Face it, Trump’s Covid response was a disaster.

Trump did not put Fauci or Birx in front.
Mike Pence was head of the Covid Task Force.
It was Pence who brought those two Mass Murderers to the front.
