During his visit to Moldova to participate in the summit of the European political community, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
The head of state noted that this is the third meeting of the leaders in the last month. He thanked the United Kingdom for its strong support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
“I am grateful to the United Kingdom and personally to Mr. Prime Minister for the assistance provided to Ukraine. For leadership in creating tank and aviation coalitions, in particular in readiness to start training Ukrainian pilots,” the president of Ukraine stressed.
Volodymyr Zelensky highly appreciated the recent transfer of Storm Shadow long-range missiles to Ukraine.
“These are exactly the weapons we need today. It helps us win, “ he emphasized.
During the talks, the head of state informed the Prime Minister about the situation at the front. The president noted that in recent days, the Russian aggressor has significantly intensified missile terror and drone attacks, which indicates the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
“To protect our population and civilian infrastructure, it is necessary to create an air shield over Ukrainian cities,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The meeting also raised the issue of Ukraine’s expectations from the Vilnius NATO summit. The head of state stressed that it is important for our country to receive a clear signal about the prospects for membership in the Alliance, which will be another motivating factor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba responded to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s statement that a Ukrainian counteroffensive cannot be allowed.
This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to European Pravda.
Kuleba emphasized that Ukraine, more than anyone else in the world, seeks the fastest possible restoration of peace, “but a just peace, a peace that will primarily involve the restoration of territorial integrity.”
“Therefore, when someone starts saying: there is no need for a counteroffensive, let’s negotiate, then if you are so smart, you will convince Putin to withdraw the troops from Ukraine, and then there will be no counteroffensive,” he noted.
Kuleba criticized efforts to “constantly approach the solution of problems through the prism of the fact that Ukraine has to give up something in order for there to be a solution.”
“This is a perverted logic, a sick logic that completely failed in the period from 2014 to 2022. If you want to help, use your connections and contacts and convince Putin to leave Ukraine,” he concluded.

Wagner Group chief says RUSSIAN Defence Ministry laid mines on Wagner Group fighters’ exit routes from Bakhmut
Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Wagner Group private military company (PMC), has said that representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defence had laid mines on Wagner Group fighters’ exit routes from Bakhmut.

QUOTE from Prigozhin: “Just before exiting [Bakhmut] we detected suspicious activities along our exit routes. We called law enforcement agencies and found around a dozen locations with dozens of explosive devices: hundreds of anti-tank mines to tonnes of plastic explosives.
The command was responsible for all this. Investigations are currently underway.
Representatives of the [Russian] Defence Ministry were the ones to rig those areas with explosives. When asked why they did it, they pointed to their leadership.
There was no need to place those devices to hold enemy forces back, they were all behind the frontlines. We can therefore assume that those explosives were destined for the Wagner PMC.”
DETAILS: Prigozhin said none of his fighters were injured.
He claimed that this was the Russian leadership’s attempt to give him a public beating.
BACKGROUND: In May, Prigozhin said that after 1 June, his mercenaries would not be present along the entire contact line in Ukraine for at least two months. The Institute for the Study of War believes that Wagner Group could miss the main stages of Ukraine’s counteroffensive.
