Vladimir Zelensky meets with Rishi Sunak in Moldova

During his visit to Moldova to participate in the summit of the European political community, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
The head of state noted that this is the third meeting of the leaders in the last month. He thanked the United Kingdom for its strong support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
“I am grateful to the United Kingdom and personally to Mr. Prime Minister for the assistance provided to Ukraine. For leadership in creating tank and aviation coalitions, in particular in readiness to start training Ukrainian pilots,” the president of Ukraine stressed.
Volodymyr Zelensky highly appreciated the recent transfer of Storm Shadow long-range missiles to Ukraine.
“These are exactly the weapons we need today. It helps us win, “ he emphasized.
During the talks, the head of state informed the Prime Minister about the situation at the front. The president noted that in recent days, the Russian aggressor has significantly intensified missile terror and drone attacks, which indicates the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
“To protect our population and civilian infrastructure, it is necessary to create an air shield over Ukrainian cities,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The meeting also raised the issue of Ukraine’s expectations from the Vilnius NATO summit. The head of state stressed that it is important for our country to receive a clear signal about the prospects for membership in the Alliance, which will be another motivating factor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire Ukrainian people.
