Here in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties if they had spent the $95 million on clearing river channels and levee repair the flooding would not have happened.

They figured they’d wait a bit since swimmers can’t easily receive and spend money. Now is good, since they are at least at the wading stage.

Thank you for mentioning that.

There's also the question of what happened to the billions that California voters had approved for new water storage nearing 10 years ago.

Californians approved billions for new water storage. Why hasn’t it gotten built? (Non-FR; 1.16.23)

The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same lawmakers to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.

Like the BulletTrain, this is another money laundering scheme. Also like with programs on street bums, 90% of the money will be skimmed and never make its way to any illegal alien — unless he is in public office.

Santa Cruz County failed to maintain a culvert about five miles upstream of my bridge that let me haul logs to a mill.
The bridge is unusable. The replacement will cost north of half a million dollars. No county, state or fed. agency will even issue a low interest loan because there isn’t a dwelling on the property. It’s agriculture. What a system!
