Paxton was a thorn in the side of both the democrats and the GOP establishment. Therefore, they teamed up to work together and remove him from office.
So Texas can stop embarrassing itself with all of those Supreme Court cases arguing states rights and other long neglected clauses in the Constitution.

Not to mention that Paxton’s wife, who I guess he cheated on, is a state senator.
Ken Paxton is being railroaded, as almost all the “evidence” was made up by persons who had NOT be sworn in to get the anecdotal statements on the record, but by not swearing to an oath, they are not subject to perjury.
Pretty slick, if you are not obeying the letter of the law, as this kangaroo court known as the Texas House has chosen to do. Perhaps the Texas Senate is just about as corrupt.

I think this answers the question of why haven’t AGs and DAs from red states gone after high level democrats. The republican party won’t allow it.
Full disclosure: I am no Karl Rove fan.
However, in the WSJ piece at the linl below, he lays out better than I have seen otherwise, the background behind the various charges against Paxton.
If those charges are true, real Conservatives should not cheer for Paxton, merely because he is/was so “popular”. Since when was “popular” synonomous with Conservative.
It appears that the great state of Texas has ceased to be “great”...
