Govs. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) and Henry McMaster (R-S.C.) on Wednesday announced they’re joining a number of their fellow Republicans in sending National Guard troops from their states to the southern border at the request of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R).
“The ongoing border crisis facing our nation has turned every state into a border state. As leadership solutions at the federal level fall short, states are answering the call to secure our southern border, reduce the flow of fentanyl, combat human trafficking and address the humanitarian crisis,” Youngkin said in a statement.

So, nobody should do anything and just let the flood in?
Idiotic waste of money. All the Guard does on the border is help organize the welcome, processing, feeding and sheltering etc.
There are numerous videos out of Guard members protecting the illegals as they board bus fleets. They are facing OUT towards the US citizens trying to document it.
All the Guard does is help smooth the flow of the human trafficking operation. We would be better off without a Guard or Border Patrol down there at this point. At least they would have to wander around in an unfamiliar land, get no phones, have to arrange their own buses and figure out how to get flights.
This is just a farce that we are “sending the Guard”.
What for? So they can count and process the next batch of arrivals?
More pencil pushers or actual border guards?
So why would they be activating the NATIONAL GUARD?
Is it doing any good?
Are they laying mines ? If not they should.
Texas now has a *state* offense of (essentially) illegal border crossing. This allows Texas to apprehend, detain and incarcerate illegals completely separately from Federal law - which neatly sidesteps the “states cannot enforce Federal law” argument.
They are there to help process the invaders and keep the independent news journalists from recording what is going on.
Iowa ARNG going also.

Oh, I see..... Well then since they can apprehend etc. illegals then go for it! Lock them up too!
If the first wave of the National Guard was to work on clerical duties and paper shuffling then if these go farther against pedophile rings, narcotics smugglers and terrorists, will the first punch or shot fired mean outrage and a life imprisonment sentence by the corrupt pseudo justice system?
Actually, I’m hoping that part of the plan is that the apprehended illegals are told “You can now go to jail here in Texas... or you can voluntarily go on this bus to some other state and they’ll give you free stuff.” Then we get far more supply to smack those virtue signaling blue states with. (Remember, Texas can legally only send those willing to consent to being transported.) I figure we should send illegals to every state that isn’t sending National Guard to the border to help with enforcement.
Oh, and any that don’t want to go on the bus? Yeah, we have plenty of space in Texas prisons for them, plus plenty of space to build more prisons.
I expect most of them will want to go on the bus.
Border protection; wish many other governors would do this. National sercurity issue? illegals flooding into their states?
Oh, I see, Abbott asked them. If the NG can do what they want and not what the fed officials want them to do, it could be good.
I don’t support any of them being transported anywhere except back to their own country.
Doing that has led other states to believe it’s just a Texas problem or a border state problem. They don’t see why it’s their problem or why it should be a priority. They virtue signal how they don’t understand how the border states could be so mean to the poor refugees, how they would take them in and provide all they need - knowing that they’d not have to follow through on that.
The only way those states are going to learn why this is a problem to is to MAKE it their problem. And the only way to do that right now is to ship the problem to them and force them to live up to their own proclamations. If we just deport them, nothing will change.
