Trump supporters keep trying to tie Ron DeSantis to George Soros
Daily Dot via MSN ^ | 30 May 23 | Mikael Thalen

Supporters of former President Donald Trump are spreading an altered image that purports to show Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in a room with billionaire George Soros.

The image, which was shared to Twitter on Friday, has been seen by more than 219,000 users after being posted by the pro-Trump user @ThroughCheated.

"No disrespect to DeSantis supporters but don't u think it's odd that George Soros is right there supporting the meatball?" the user tweeted.

An individual that appears to be Soros can be seen sitting at a table in the background as a grinning DeSantis is visible on the right side of the image.

While many were able to correctly identify the photo as manipulated, others expressed concern over the fabricated ties between DeSantis and Soros.

"DeSantis is part of the establishment," one user said.

Some even tagged the official Twitter account for DeSantis, demanding that the conservative politician explain the photo.

Um. I don’t know what bubble you’re living in

My world view that you refer to as a bubble is a view that does not see two distinct parties in mighty opposition.

My “beef” with the poster of this article was with “sourcing” not content.

MSN represents the hard left wing of the Uniparty.

But this poster continues to use it as a “source” to attack Trump.

What makes Free Republic unique is that posters must source their posts or post “vanity” posts and risk being slammed for posting a vanity post.

This poster is practicing what a lot of posters practice on both sides of the Trump “cultist”/Ronbot debate.

My point was, he keeps using a hard left site as sourcing for his Trump bashing.

Look, the Trump cultist wants to silence debate.

Why don’t you just call my posts “disinformation” and ask for government assistance?

Either refute my posts with FACTS or stop your whining.

A few Trump supporters corrected me on details and I admitted I was wrong, like Trump was not the first to call DeSantis “meatball” . But Trump amplified it by saying it twice in one of his Truth Social posts.

Now the Trump cultists are posting “meatball” in most of the threads discussing DeSantis.

“DeSantis is part of the establishment,” one user said.”

DeSantis has no chance of winning and should withdraw before he embarrasses himself any further.

He’s a leftist using leftist tactics. Leftists always lie.

Please explain, then, why Trump is using leftist tactics and talking points against DeSantis?

In my view, that makes Trump more RINO than ever.

I stand for conservatism and conservative policies. DeSantis has proven through his RECORD to be a strong conservative in word and deed.

I thought FR was a place for conservatives and rational discussions.

So now Trump’s denial is actually Trump calling DeSantis “meatball”?

LOL! Your TDS is certifiable.

Trump never called DeSantis, “meatball”. CNN used unnamed “sources” to report the story and many of you TDS invalids belived it.

Bullshit someone else.

The debate here is just one of the morning mists of the fog of war. There are much more encompassing issues, that just can't make much FR headway. Mentioning it here will hardly make any dent at this point, and likely derail.

That said, what's coming? In a word: A Storm.

DJT told us years ago:

President Donald Trump: 'It's The Calm Before The Storm' | NBC News

The 'Storm' DJT refers to was all but said out in the open on 1/20/17. We just didn't know then how long the 'calm' would last... and go well into the bidAn years.

DJT Inaug, pay especial attention to the military behind, 1:40 to 3:00

“My point was, he keeps using a hard left site as sourcing for his Trump bashing.”

Ok. I get your stance, but....my supposition is (although I can’t speak for the poster you’re referring to)....that he is probably only retaliating against the anti-DeSantis attackers...for the anti-DeSantis posts here.

And I have noticed that even when/if I use a non-leftist media source, the anti-DeSantis crowd will diss the source as BS. It’s not what they want to read or hear.

Point IS...the left media is bashing both Trump and DeSantis. Neither side (pro-Trump or pro-DeSantis) can trust the validity of the spewing they’re dewin, IOW. Yet still they try.

And I get it...that this happens in every primary season. The ongoing spew-fest. But that doesn’t mean I have to like or be silent about the deceptive BS that’s being thrown around.

Thanks for the clarification.

“The constitution does not permit the government the option of defaulting on its debt.

The fact is the USA defaulted under FDR in the 1930’s when the USA refused to pay off WWI debt in gold as the USA had contracted to do.

In the 1780’s the Continental Congress was run out of Philadelphia after not paying American Revolutionary War soldiers as promised.

“The 14th amendment makes the debt obligation primary for tax inflows.”

The federal debt obligation would be like an unpaid private debt. The holder of the debt could get a court order for payment, which would be top priority unless statutory law at the time the debt was incurred has an exception.

Since prior statutory federal payouts could be clawed back or taxes raised, issuing new debt is not the only possibility, so issuing additional debt is not constitutionally required. Allowing debt holders to collect by typical means is the most likely legal outcome of prolonged default.

The US government takes in $14B/day which is way more than the $1B/day needed to cover interest payments on the debt.

So you see a post that points out the fanaticism of some Trump supporters (such as yourself), and you immediately want those viewpoints erased and kill the messenger.

“The US government takes in $14B/day which is way more than...needed to cover interest payments on the debt.”

31 U.S. Code § 3123 - Payment of obligations and interest on the public debt

(a)The faith of the United States Government is pledged to pay, in legal tender, principal and interest on the obligations of the Government issued under this chapter.
(b)The Secretary of the Treasury shall pay interest due or accrued on the public debt. As the Secretary considers expedient, the Secretary may pay in advance interest on the public debt by a period of not more than one year....

https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/31/3123

Secretary Yellen could have prepaid the interest. I’m sure she knows the key laws governing her job.

Yes! I gladly nominated this poster for the ZOT!

He deserves it.

If I were a mod, I'd ZOT! him for calling Trump supporters vile, and so much more.

The illustrious owner of our site is a Trump supporter.
