As the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball club continues to hem-and-haw its way through a controversy created by its decision to honor a group called The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for their supposed contributions to the City of Angels — more on their, ahem, activities from Mia here — a growing number of baseball fans and faith-based organizations have registered their disapproval of the Dodgers' decision.
Among them, as of Tuesday afternoon, is Trevor Williams, a 31-year-old pitcher for the Washington Nationals who happens to be Catholic and decided to use his platform to speak out against the Dodgers and Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in a statement on Twitter. His admirable decision to use his voice rather than remain silent is sure to send left-wing media — especially leftward-lurching sports media — screeching into the abyss.
"As a devout Catholic, I am deeply troubled by the Dodgers' decision to re-invite and honor the group 'The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence' at their Pride Night this year," Williams said in his tweeted statement. "A Major League Baseball game is a place where people from all walks of life should feel welcomed, something I greatly respect and support. This is the purpose of different themed nights hosted by the organization, including Price Night," he continued.

Trevor Williams is also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. We need more men like him.
If God is for us, who can be against us?

My father was in the KofC. I’m looking at his sword as I type this.
Every year we have a big 4th of July parade. It’s usually at least 90 degrees. The old KofC fellows always march by. They are dressed in heavy suits with capes. I’ve watched them for years and as they walk by there is never a bead of sweat on any of them.
The statement is comprehensive, cogent, timely, trenchant, and, best if all, fully defensible in terms of Catholic moral doctrine, as well as common sense.
Too bad a Catholic bishop or two couldn’t have beaten this player to the punch, but these days, that’s the hand Catholic laymen are increasingly dealt.
Oh no....another hateful tweet....someone call Elon...
Tuxedos and capes went out about 3 years ago. The coats are still there, but the berets are cooler than the old chapeauxs. Thanks goodness.
If you are not going to join, please consider donating the sword to the local council or assembly so that a member can afford to participate. New swords are about $200.
God bless this courageous man. The whole thing is simply Hate Speech directed at faithful Catholics. There is nothing funny, cute or “accepting” about it.
I hope the Catholic Church sues the pants off of the LA Dodgers, MLB and the Trans-Pervert nun impersonators who are giving a platform to and perpetuating this Hate Speech.
If it was a bunch of Transgenders dressed up as Hassidic Jews would be No Different.
Where are the enterprising lawyers who want to bring in a big donation for the Church?
You assume they care about the issue.
Have the suits in the Dodgers front office taken a position on a transvestite version of Muhammed yet? If you’re big into being inclusive, no point in going half-way.
Dad passed a few years back, he wanted me to have the sword so it’s not going anywhere.
Why di they still allow Catholics to play I’m the MLB?
Good for him.
The arrogant woke leftists believe anything said or done against Trump or any conservative or patriot or believer in God is a legitimate target to destroy.
We have to disabuse them of their idea that there is no one who will oppose them.
After the MLB strike in the 1980s, I ceased paying attention, and paying, for anything MLB.
Why don’t you just pay for someone’s sword?
When the Nationals took the knee in 2020 or 2019, I canceled my season tickets and haven’t watched a game since. Same with the NFL and NHL
