Nothing wrong with Trump criticizing fellow conservatives — as long as he refrains from personal attacks, name calling, and outlandish attacks on issues where his opponents are more conservative than he is. He can do it right if he wants to.

Of course it’s about the VP slot.
Pence was chosen to calm the GOPe. That GOPe did not expect him to win. It kept them undercut. Then he won and they went crazy.
Trump understood something only he and Michael Moore did. The election is won by independents. The Dems and GOP don’t either have the votes to win. It takes Independents to win, and they are not the center. They have strong views that oppose both parties. They oppose the Swamp.
And they understand what conservatism is — Draining the Swamp. It isn’t spending cuts or tax cuts. It is upheaval. Disruption of the Swamp.
These people in WI, PA and MI voted for Obama. There was no anti Swamp candidate Romney or McCain vs Obama. They voted Obama. Suddenly, with Trump, there was the first candidate to understand conservatism. They voted Trump, after having voted Obama. Conservatism is anti government so opposing the Swamp is the only conservative position.
It is the greatest threat the Deep State has ever faced. They prefer nuclear war to their own loss of power. Trump went out and endured the loss of a mostly politically quiet billionaire’s lifestyle to advance the only real Conservatism, and suffered the subsequent demonization.
True conservatives can tolerate no other choice.
