It sounds pretty bad to me. Because they can’t be the only insurance company reading the tea leaves on the state of affairs there.

There will be more. My heart goes out to conservatives who live in that state.

Not everyone can flee.

EV insurance next?

[I assume that it’s the spontaneous combustion of EVs in homes that drives the home insurance risk shedding. [even if the EV is kept in the shed.]

“I have felt State Farm has always been an advocate for LGBTQ+ employees. There is no reason why any employee should need to be a protected class, and LGBTQ+ employees shouldn’t need to be given the same protection. Fortunately, State Farm has always been a huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community as well as their employees who identify as such, but now citizens outside of the company are legally protected just like everyone else.”

They wanted Mexico, they got Mexico.

In most cases private insurance is non-existent south of the border.

So my earlier post about not blaming people for being law abiding in CA was premature. By enabling the evil ones they are suffering financially now.

Because I think I did such a fine job, here is the passage from the earlier thread again:

I live in a region of Michigan with despicable and evil people who vote over 85% Dem over and over. A lot of criminals are let go due to outright pro-offender system here.

Someone could judge me for allowing it or enabling it by staying within the laws against vigilantism.

Therefore I won’t make remarks against California’s people who are probably 39% okay (my estimate).

Going along with the pseudo justice system and obeying the laws as we here do including myself, we have to accept a lot of evil by others.

Dennis Prager had an author who actually said he believes California will vote down socialism “within my lifetime.” Prager had to be polite and disagree. Me, too.

If you can’t insure a house, no bank will give you a mortgage against it. Even if you can pay cash for a home, your HOA may require you to have insurance.

Without property insurance, property values will collapse. The state of California would have to become a giant insurer of property and could not begin to cover the monumental cost of insuring California properties.

There is nothing catastrophic one could do to destroy California it is not already doing to destroy itself.

Not EV's so much as California Prog Marxist Democrat Politicians, Prosecutors and Coppers have made it impossible to protect Private Property or for Good Guys to Prevail in Torts or Criminal Prosecution (pronounced: Persecution).

State Farm has seen the future.

"We take seriously our responsibility to manage risk," State Farm wrote in a statement. "We recognize the governor's administration, legislators, and the California Department of Insurance (CDI) for their wildfire loss mitigation efforts. We pledge to work constructively with the CDI and policymakers to help build market capacity in California.

Sounds like they know CA will keep listening to the environmentalists and stopping any proper forest management and keep letting thousands of acres burn.

Sounds like CA would rather appease the environuts and let the place burn each summer and take out lots of houses they insure vs cut and thin the trees on state land.

Because Communists and Marxists run California, and it’s only going to get worse.

I fully agree with you. The good people there are trapped in most cases. They can’t suddenly leave their professional job or their mortgaged house like a transient leaving a rooming house with a month’s rent unpaid.

Or load up the truck and move out of Beverly. Hills, that is.

The destruction of society by the Chinese style woke Dems is taking a big toll.

I doubt there’s an economist on the planet who couldn’t have seen this coming. Just as certain will be the exodus of business from the state and, without jobs to pay those mortgages, there will be a general collapse of the economic system.

On the other hand, perhaps that’s what Newsom wants. For the Leftists, killing Capitalism is the way to Socialism. You people in CA voted for it year after year and those dots you see on the horizon are chickens coming home to roost.
