"You initiated the conversation about being “stabbed in the back.” I’ve tried to dissuade you but you are persistent."

Dissuade me from what? Talking about facts, while you're talking about extra-marital affairs?

You seem to be having a problem with getting your head around what I'm talking about. You're trying to compare a man or woman cheating on their spouses to a political figure who used Trump to get elected, then stabbed him in the back by announcing his candidacy for President, when he knew full-well that the President had previously announced his run. Then, DeSantis turned his back on the people who voted for him by throwing his hat into the Presidential ring. He's barely six months into his second term, and he's already told the people who voted for him "Adios." Kind of a slap in the face to the people who trusted him to remain the whole four years.

And on top of it, using his power as Governor of the State, the same day he announces his candidacy, he signed legislation that included exempting himself from the state’s resign-to-run rule. What a self-serving schmuck. He can now run, and remain Governor at the same time, with a guarantee, that if he loses in the primaries, he'll have a job and paycheck to go back to. Another self-serving slime ball, Charlie Crist got the same rule changed because he thought he was a possible running mate for John McCain, and the rule remained that way until Rick Scott reimposed the requirement.

I live in New York State. I don't know where you live, but if you don't live in Florida, then you have no idea how Floridians who voted for DeSantis feel right now. I'm betting they feel betrayed. "I repeat: drop this line of reasoning."

LOL!! How dramatic...and how childish you are. Sounds like a threat. Look, I'm 75 years old, probably older than you, and I've been here a bit longer than you. You don't tell people what to do around here, unless you're one of the mods. If you bothered to read any of my other comments in the forum, you'd already know I'm a Trump supporter. I have been since 2015. If I'm alive on Election Day in 2024, I'm voting for Trump, even if I have to write his name in. I won't vote for DeSantis or anyone else.

And DeSantis is still a back stabber...as bad as Mitt Romney I'd say. Romney begged Trump to endorse him for the Senate, and President Trump did, and he stabbed Trump in the back too. DeSantis and Romney, two peas in a gaseous swamp.

There are no bigger “globalists” than the groomers at Disney. Interestingly, they were the 2nd biggest financial supporters of President Trump in 2020. Only Sheldon Adelson gave more money to the Trump campaign than them. Ask yourself why that is before you pledge undying loyalty to Trump. No one deserves such unquestioned support. Conservatives are better than that.

“You're trying to compare a man or woman cheating on their spouses to a political figure who used Trump to get elected, then stabbed him in the back . . .”

I voted for Ronald Reagan every chance I got even though he was divorced; I would have never thought to say he “stabbed his wife and best friend Jane Wyman in the back.” I don't think about it that way although others may.

And when Reagan ran against an incumbent GOP president, I would have never thought to say “Reagan stabbed Republican President Ford in the back.”

Governor DeSantis is being accused by some as “stabbing” an important private citizen in the back because he (DeSantis) has offered his services to the nation at the next political level. I view that kind of talk as exaggerated political hyperbole that is not to be taken literally.

I should add: I defend your right to make these kinds of statements. Whether you believe what you are saying or not, I defend your right to say ugly things about DeSantis and his supporters, especially if you have a flawless candidate to recommend.

You have said you will never vote for DeSantis; understandable knowing the high standards that New York voters require of their candidates.

Now, about how DeSantis voters and Trump voters feel about each in Florida near the end of May: a recent poll shows them tied in the presidential primary.
