China
This week, after Biden vetoed a House and Senate-approved plan to reinstate the tariffs on solar panel imports, 197 House Democrats and eight House Republicans voted to help the administration stave off the tariffs.
(snip) From 2001 to 2018, U.S. free trade with China eliminated 3.7 million American jobs from the economy — 2.8 million of which were lost in American manufacturing. During that same period, at least 50,000 American manufacturing plants closed down.
Those massive job losses have coincided with a booming U.S.-China trade deficit. In 1985, before China entered the World Trade Organization (WTO), the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled $6 billion. In 2019, the U.S. trade deficit with China totaled more than $345 billion.
While skyrocketing U.S. trade deficits have led to devastation across America’s working- and middle-class communities over the last two decades, tariffs would be a boon for reshoring jobs and boosting wages, studies show. One such study finds that tariffs on nearly all foreign imports would create about ten million American jobs while boosting domestic output.

They gave him his Peeps, passed his Judges, and have passed his Spending Orgies, all but one time, when they passed them with Kamala Harris and didn’t need Republicans.
Joe is nothing without the Republicans rushing to protect him and keep the unprecedented Spending Crazy Train going.
Biden thanks Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) for his help
.
We need 2 yr terms and Term Limits. These people couldn’t care less about the American people.
25 years ago US Politicians primary concern was good jobs. Now, you won’t find it anywhere on their agenda. They don’t even fake it.
The only way to end this is by not raising the debt limit. Just say no. Cut off the blood supply.
FOLLOW THE MONEY.
You can’t go in with debt and come out a multi-millionaire on a politicians salary. There must be something else.
I wonder what it could be?
Damn the whole lot of them!
Knowingly selling away our sovereignity and independance.
What next? Happily (stupidly) reducing our authority on the seas and oceans while China aggressively pounces to increase their own?
On the take ?
“197 House Democrats and eight House Republicans”
That’s 205, how does that help Brandon?
All those who fail to oppose China in every way are traitors - every one of them!
.
You know when they won’t leave those jobs until they’re 90, you know something is going on.
Why didn’t Pelosi retire?
She might want to shut down some Investigations, and see that her Grandkids are Billionaires.
Biden’s partners were paying money into Trusts for his grandkids. Former FBI Director sent a $100,000 to Joe’s grandkids.
.
Massie will succeed the turtle-unless you can come up with someone better.
Agreed 100%.
Maximum 12 years for any congress critter is more than enough.
Rep. John Curtis (R-UT)
Rep. Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY)
Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY)
Rep. Nicholas LaLota (R-NY)
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY)
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY)
Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA)
Rep. Marcus Molinaro (R-NY)
Very Good.
Seems China owns many of our Gov’t Officials.
Compromised. Now we know.
NO! No matter how you feel, Congress are the only ones in government over whom you still have some control
Start instead with term-limits on permanent deep-state bureaucrats. Who voted for Fauci? Who voted for Comey? They have been in their jobs for 40 years. These people run giant bureaucratic kingdoms, and they truly are in charge of America.
.
Do both.
Congress is Corrupt. The embedded Deep State needs to be addressed immediately.
China controls about 90% of polysilicon processing (the base of solar panels) and about 80% of photovoltaic panel module production.
Biden’s woke masters are addicted to their green-energy fantasy, and China is their dealer. Adding tariffs would make their habit that much more expensive.
End the green-energy fantasy and you end China’s hold over us on this.
