You call a guy who went to Yale and Harvard a “working class” guy? The only actual job DeSantis held was school teacher for a short time. The rest of the time he’s been a JAG Corp lawyer and a politician.

Trump’s strong support from working class Americans is the reason he was successful in 2016. Think about it.

He worked as an electrician’s assistant and a summer camp baseball coach while going to college and then as a history teacher after he graduated and before joining the Navy. How is he not from a working-class background? You don’t lose your background just because you went to an Ivy League school.

Are you contending that Trump, whose dad paid for his education and gave him tens of millions of dollars to start his business is the working class guy? Working class is about origins - DeSantis comes from a humble background and worked his butt off to get where he is. Trump’s a silver spooner because he started on third base.

Trump’s sociopathy, sense of entitlement and screwing over of everyone he deals with comes from the fact that he’s never had to struggle. DeSantis’s empathy - that’s a result of having to struggle for every single thing he’s ever achieved.

DeSantis cares about working class parents not having to worry about their kids getting groomed in public schools because like his parents, they can’t afford private school. Trump doesn’t give a damn about public schoolchildren being groomed because his children and grandchildren are going private schools where none of this stuff is allowed. That’s why Trump went to bat for Tranheiser Busch and Disney - not his problem.

Trump doesn’t have much support from the electorate. He got a smaller % of the popular vote than Romney, twice. Lest anyone forgets, Romney was a corporate raider (which was what they used to call private equity) before he jumped into politics. When you get a smaller % of the popular vote than Gordon Gekko the soulless Wall Street leech who’s also a Mormon, whom a good chunk of the GOP electorate sees as a heretic, you’ve got a big problem.

Except giving Biden a second term isn’t really a problem for Trump. He’s a billionaire. He’s got private security and lives in a one-percenter bubble. Trump’s not the one to suffer from his own inevitable defeat. We are.

That’s not true.

He worked as an electrician helper in summers in his college years.
