Threads like this, which even mention Ron DeSantis in a positive light, bring out the DU-contingent here at FR. By their rabid temperament and childish insults do we know them. It's almost fun to watch. Almost.

That said, I have mixed feelings about DeSantis throwing his hat into the ring. I'm not surprised, but I find the work he has done here in Florida to be without peer and would love it to continue.

Donald Trump has gotten my vote twice already, and will again should he be the Republican nominee. Trump says he's ready for a fight, and if by some miracle the DNC vote-fraud machine doesn't work as well as it has been in 2020 and 2022 and he actually regains the Presidency, he is going to get one. The Deep State will only continue to ratchet up its subversion tactics, agitprop, character assassination and calls to violent uprising. But Donald Trump says he's ready to go and I can only hope by now that he is fully aware of what he is up against. They will kill him if they can get away with it.

Another great post by Joe Bower. He’s one of the best here, or anywhere, no doubt.

And I felt exactly like Joe does now, back in Jan/Feb of this year. Since then, I’ve seen an ugly side of Trump that makes we wonder if there’s ever going to be anything good ever come from him again. Yes, he’s been unfairly persecuted in many ways, but in many others, he’s made this bed himself, and I don’t trust him one iota on some of our biggest issues like budget control, vax injections and the homo/trans agenda.

That doesn’t mean I won’t vote for him if I am faced with the choice of either him or Biden (with Harris waiting in the wings as VP), but my expectations and enthusiasm for him are at McCain/Romney like levels at this point. It’s so bad that if RFK Jr somehow got the D nomination, I’d probably at least investigate the option, and I’ve never voted for a D before in my life (and probably never will, so sitting out is an option as well). But if Trump still can’t see the need to fire Chris Wray, as he admitted to Sean Hannity a couple of weeks ago, for example, what real difference is there anyway.

Amen. I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Will Trump folks make the same pledge if RDS wins it?

I have no problem with DeSantis but I think he should have waited till ‘28. That said, Trump will be getting my vote. Florida needs DeSantis!
