If seasonal sales do NOT rise in summer, if those ballpark sales do not compensate for lowered retail demand, then, come fall, Bud is in huge trouble.
I observed at many bars that Bud Light is piling up. To be fair, I bet a lot of that is peer-pressure driven. I mean, you’re having drinks and if you’re a guy (who’s not a rabid leftist) and order a Bud Light, you’ll never hear the end of it from your friends.
At the ballpark, that may not be an issue. I believe beer isn’t sold in bottles at the ball game (or concerts), so nobody will know what beer you’re drinking. People may still boycott on principle, but if the price of Bud Light is massively lower than the competition at the ball game, and since they gouge you at the ball park, cheap guys MAY buy Bud Light.
HOWEVER....if Bud Light owns the beer cup concession, and EVERY BEER will come in a Guy-in-a-dress cup, and since the drunks AND friends will heckle, it could be bad for ALL beer manufacturers.
I’ll get popcorn; I drink scotch.
