The Rats thought Hillary Clinton deserved to be president in 2016. They believed it so fervently they ignored how much the country hated her, even within their own ranks, and threw Bernie voters under the bus. It sort of surprises me that DeSantis would take on Trump now.
I think it has to do with name recognition. In 2028 DeSantis will be a former governor and unable to command the spotlight as he does now with his war on wokeness. He may or may not be able to beat Trump in the primary. But if he waits until 2028 he's definitely not going anywhere.
So much that they won't even rely on election fraud- too many variables.
