Ending months of speculation, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared his presidential candidacy Wednesday, setting up a seismic clash with former President Donald Trump for GOP supremacy.

A more formal announcement is expected to follow at 6pm, when DeSantis is appearing in a Twitter Space with Elon Musk.

Desantis will be destroyed. He’ll be so diminished that even FL won’t want him back. He’ll end up as diminished as Ted Cruz. He’s already stepped in it. He just won his second term in a landslide not too long ago and although he’s done fantastic things in Florida, everything will eventually slide back into the sewer because he won’t be watching and guarding the state: the job he was elected to do. How betrayed Floridians are going to feel.

Look, if Trump wins the Nomination, I will vote for him. The choices are Trump or DeSantis, NOT Trump DeSantis or Biden.

The ones I know, including myself, are super excited to have an actual true conservative running for the White House, who can fight all the battles Trump isn’t willing to fight. Whether that’s the covid/vaccine issue, election security, homo agenda, BLM riots, etc. Trump is either on the wrong side of those issues, or has accomplished nothing.

There are people on this site that admit they don’t vote. Not voting for someone that you have strong reasons to not vote for do not make a person a traitor.
Do you realize how many people in this country do not vote? Are they all traitors?
I believe this go round there will be fewer actual voters because of the fact people know that the outcome is rigged. The winner will be who figures out how many false ballots will be needed to win in the early morning hours after the official votes are counted.
Can you not say DeSantis “also ran” for office?
Trump was first.
No one hates DeSantis. Most FReepers liked him and some of us wanted him to be Trump’s VP. Now. We see him as another slick empty-suit with poor judgement.
He should have waited four years which ends his obligation as governor in 2027, in time for the 2028 election. We see him as a poor strategist.
Making better appointments and endorsements than Trump did, obviously. I don’t trust him with that power again, nor should anyone.
He’ll probably appoint Lindsey Graham as Attorney General and gayball Rick Grennell as Secretary of State.
