The Los Angeles Dodgers have reversed course on the controversial decision to disinvite a group of self-described queer and trans “nuns” from being honored at the team’s 10th annual Pride Night.

“After much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence … the Dodgers would like to offer our sincerest apologies,” the team said in a statement Monday afternoon after meeting with leaders of the group.

The Dodgers are safely woke, since LA is a woke town. The fans will show up in greater numbers now, with the LGBTQ+ nuns taking the field.

Trans “nuns”? That is just sick. These people are in denial of nature, denial of God, and denial of science. But they insist there’s something wrong with being “cis gendered”. No, that’s just called being “normal”.

will the Gay Mohommad’s and the Queer Allah’s be there too?
I doubt it. They know everyone in attendance would be beheaded & the stadium burned to the ground.

Yet another reason why I'm glad I completely divorced pro sports leagues when athletes started kneeling at the National Anthem.

At some point, industries have to regrow some testes...

Will be interesting to see if the serfs pay attention and the stadium gets sparse crowds...

Maybe the team was admonished by the league and the union POSs...

They’ve been doing this for 10 years. The conservatives should have stopped this 10 years ago. Always late.

I am a product of a mixed marriage - Mom Dodgers, Dad Giants, so I can speak to the Horace Stoneham question.

The Dodgers had issues with a tiny stadium and excessively “urban” surroundings. But the Giants had a huge ballpark, won pennants in 1951 and 1954, made money and had Willie Mays.

But the evil Walter O’Malley was crafty, and the drunkard Horace Stoneham was stupid.

The poll you are referring to was run by the Daily News in the 70s to choose the most evil man of the 20th Century, so far. O’Malley finished second.

O’Malley, as everybody knows, got a fantastic deal from LA. But the 707 was not flying yet, and the nearest major league city (I mean National League, of course, but I repeat myself) - the nearest major league city to LA was St. Louis, some teams still travelled on trains, and so to make LA work O’Malley needed a rival on the West Coast.

So, he got the seedy drunk Stoneham to sign up to have the Giants play in a small city, in a tiny ballpark (Kezar Stadium) and to abandon the Greatest City in the World, just so the Dodgers (spit) could have a rival.

And that’s the rest of the story.

Yep. I said the same thing about the Republican party abandoning their constituents in the big cities. They decided to use their resources elsewhere. What the Republican party didn’t understand is that you have to attack cancer in its early stages. Before it spreads. Now the Democrats have expanded their fraud from the major cities into the rest of the state with mail-in voting and ballot harvesting. Republicans always seem to be a dollar short and a day late.

I am as well. My father was New York Giants, my mother was New York Yankees. She converted upon marriage. My father abandoned the Giants and adopted the Mets. My mother stopped practicing altogether.

My brother and I both became Dodger fans.

I knew most of the background of the story, outside of Stoneham's drunkeness (I followed the Dodger side of things). I do think we are referring to different polls, but either way, O'Malley was a villain. I also understood that Stoneham was given his pick of cities, and chose San Fran. Maybe he was manipulated, but does an owner of a major league franchise have to be discussed as if he were a mental incompetent?

After the nabka, my Dad took me to Philadelphia a couple of times on the train to see the Giants play the Phillies.

The last time we went, the game was rained out, it was cold, we got soaked and we didn’t get home until 3:30AM. Mom put an end to the trips to Philly.

After that, it was listening to Les Keiter’s recreations of the games in San Francisco on WINS 1010. I still have a broken old clock in my home office set to 6:05, the time of those old broadcasts.

I had a much easier time driving to Shea with my father to see Mets-Dodgers games. In the ‘70s there were nearly as many Dodger fans in the stands as Mets fans. From the powerhouse ‘73 team, all they had left was Jerry Koosman, Ed Kranepool, and Joe Torre. Lee Mazilli was supposed to be the new star. He was a .300 hitting center fielder with little power and no arm. He did sell beefcake posters.

Never apologize to those people.

Make them suck it up. They’re mentally depraved.
