I am frankly amazed (not in a good way) at the speed with which the erstwhile conservative commentariat has turned on DeSantis.
You have to give credit where credit is due. The guy has managed a solidly conservative series of legislative accomplishments, didn’t blink in the face of the woke Disney brouhaha, is fighting back on the DEI insanity, handled the COVID scam as well as any governor and delivered electoral results that were solidly republican. Trump is being Trump, just as he did to Ted Cruz, trying to beat up DeSantis to make himself look better. In my opinion, DeSantis has far better conservative bona fides than the Donald.
His only problem, as far as I can tell, is a milquetoast personality that doesn’t translate well in public speaking and debates. I hate the fact that loyal republicans are attacking their own and in the process, setting the GOP for another round of electoral underperformance. Until conservatives can learn to present a unified front, things will only get worse.
I will support either one if they get the nomination, but this personal destruction leading up to the primary season has to stop.
BS. DeSantis has no balls to impose tariffs on China and he is for foreign war in Ukraine before he was against it. DeSantis is nothing more than CAREER POLITICIAN WHOSE STRINGS ARE PULLED BY HIS RICH DONORS.
“I will support either one if they get the nomination, but this personal destruction leading up to the primary season has to stop.”
But you know that...Trump being Trump....it won’t stop. It will probably only get worse (deja vu).
It’s all about rooting out the true Christians and conservatives from the Republican party, and moving the party to the left. The main battle line is whether you condone the homo agenda or not, or are willing to accept politicians who do, for any reason.
