Graham Phillips reports for Lugansk, Russia, showing footage of Wagner forces flying the Russian flag over various parts of what was Bakhmut.
Is there a cause for celebration in any of this?
For either side?
So Nazi style thugs captured a city in a sovereign nation?
Were the same kinds of people celebrating when Hitler captured Polish towns ?
I haven’t been on here as much because catholics trying to crash the forum in an election season, so I’m low on info right now:
Tell me, are there still a bunch of rabid pro-Ukranians on here or have they gone away, or at least quieted down, yet? A casual glance indicates this is perhaps true.
The “Ukraine now!” folks are maybe sitting one out in the green room with the pro-vaccination-ers....?
I’m still trying to figure out when Ukraines punishment for skimming WEF, deep state and Russian oligarch dollars is going to end.
Oh, no. We still have our Zeepers in full denial!
And amercants stand idly by as amerka is invaded.
Champagne for a Russian invasion and destruction of a city—that ruined the lives of everyone there?
You Putinistas are a strange crowd.
“So Nazi style thugs captured a city in a sovereign nation?”
Actually, it was Russia capturing Bakhmut, not Ukraine.
So far it’s been a lot of borrowed money to run cover for Biden’s family enterprise.
A war is a war is a war even if it’s a proxy war. In this case an undeclared war consuming huge amounts of fake money.
No wonder we can’t pay our bills.
The head of Russia’s Wagner mercenary force has played down the role of the army in capturing Bakhmut, the east Ukrainian city Moscow claims to have taken yesterday.
In a voice message published by his press service on Telegram, Yevgeny Prigozhin said: “During the taking of Artyomovsk, practically no one from the army helped us”, referring to Bakhmut by its Soviet-era name.
As we reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied Russia has taken full control of Bakhmut and says its forces have partly encircled the city.
Wagner fighters have long spearheaded Russia’s campaign to take the city, taking heavy losses in the process.
In the same message, Mr Prigozhin praised individual Russian army units, while restating long-standing criticism of the leadership of the Russian defence ministry, which he has accused of hampering the war effort via incompetence.
In a statement earlier today, the defence ministry restated its claim that Russian forces had finished “liberating” Bakhmut and gave most of the credit to Wagner’s assault units for the result while saying that its own aviation and artillery units had helped.

I suppose such people exist here. But I’m not celebrating this Russian “victory” because I’m pro-Ukrainian. It’s because I’m sick of all these bloody, unnecessary wars.
I felt the same way when I watched George W. Bush tell us “mission accomplished” after his bloody and unnecessary invasion of Iraq.
I hope this can result in a ceasefire so both sides can stop dying. Zeepers seem to be having a slow day.Troll holiday??
.
it’s a shame that so much of our taxpayer dollars and both Rus and Uke lives went down the toilet.
Here’s the Prigozin speech with english subtitles...enjoy!

The “mission accomplished” meme is a leftist talking point.
It was bad optics, but at the time, that banner was on an aircraft carrier that had been deployed longer than any other nuclear carrier ever had been.
Looks like you guessed wrong.
Yes, I remember the “mission accomplished” banner as being on an aircraft carrier. But I don’t understand why you see the mention of it as a leftist talking point.
In his speech there, Bush II told the country that major combat operations in Iraq were over. Saddam was deposed. He was specific. So it’s fair to conclude that the banner was connected to the war itself.
Yet, you might have a point. Some sources say the banner was the idea of the ship’s crew, and referred to the ship. But others say the idea came directly from the White House, and referred to the war. Lots of contradictory info there.
Bad optics regardless, as you noted.

But Ukraine paid a heavy price in blood in trying to hold onto that supposedly “worthless” city. Simplicius provides the details of the Ukrainian military obituary:
Why is Bakhmut called a Meat Grinder?

WASP Legions:

Most of these battalions have suffered more than 70% casualties just against PMC Wagner.
The twenty five brigades listed above represents a force of atleast 50,000 men (assuming only 2000 men in a reduced brigade) and as many as 125,000. Simplicius also lists at least 9 battalions and 5 regiments — that is 4500 and 5000 additional troops respectively. Do the math. If Ukraine deployed 134,500 troops to the battle for Bakhmut, 70% casualties means that Ukraine suffered as many as 94,150 killed and wounded.
