“You know I love those people, I pray for them, I would never do anything to hurt them or condemn them. But men are not supposed to dress like women. I’m not going to go along with that! It’s time to stand up and be a man of God.”
I have met and interacted with two guys who had the reassignment surgery. Both guys were in their late 30s or early 40s. The interaction with one guy was about ten years ago, the other guy was last year. In both cases they had Guy voices and Guy mannerisms and a fairly strong handshake, but they had (as Zappa would say) mammalian protuberances and long hair. Dunno about the downstairs equipment.
Neither of them pushed their choice in my face or aggressively demanded the use of female pronouns. Basically, the only “odd” thing was referring to them by their female name.
Was it weird? Sure...calling a guy with protuberances and a tenor voice and a crusher handshake “Belinda” was strange. But they basically just wanted to do their thing and, in all honesty, they were kinda normal except for the obvious exceptions. It was weirder than the GenZ help at Hot Topic with extreme piercings helping me find a concert shirt. But not by too much.
I don't push my view that people should be armed down other people's throats. I'd like it very much if The Others were equally respecting.
I didn't ask for this battle. But here it is. Game on.
Well said. In the 1950s and early 60s the homos seeed to all be Republicans. The Republlican politicians stafffers were homo to avoid them having scandals with some voter’s wife.
The Republicans were live and let live. What you do in your own bedroom is not my business.
The Democrat labor unions especially were extremiely anti-homo. Things started to shift in the late 60s. But I can remember in the Jimmy Carter campaignn leftist Democrat activists in Chicago, anti-Dem Machine Dems were extremely anti-homo.
They wanted me to go out of my way to condemn and punish a couple non-political acquaintances because they were homo.
The one consistent thing about the Dems is trying to force their beliefs, whatever they are, on others.
The Republican stance, for the most part, is Live and Let Live.
Killing Roe V Wade is an example. The Feds have no constitutional way to mandate something that is not in the Constitution.
The Dems want to mandate and require others to fall in line.
Thre Republicans: Live and Let Live.
